Mangaluru Sep 27: Dubbing Rohingya Muslim refugees in India as “terrorists”, Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) has urged the government of India not to make further delay to deport them back to Myanmar.

Addressing a media conference here on Wednesday VHP leader Jagadish Shenava, said that Rohingyas that have taken refuge in various parts of India should be treated as illegal immigrants and not as refugees.

“These Rohingya Muslims are in fact terrorists and they have brutally massacred large number of innocent Hindus and Buddhists in Myanmar. They also reportedly have links with dreaded terror organizations of other countries. Hence, they pose serious threat to national security,” he said.

He said that if Rohingyas do not want to stay in Myanmar let them go to their Muslim majority neighbours like Bangladesh and Pakistan instead of coming to Hindu majority India.

Shenava also said that the presence of Rohingya Muslims in India may trigger communal violence and terror attacks across the country.

Saffron activists Gopal Kuthar, Praveen Kuthar and Pradeep Pumpwell were present at the press meet.

If at all rohingya Muslims get to stay in India, These Saffron Activists and Gautankwadis would make sure that the rohingya Muslims are implicated in terrorist activities.  So, it''s not we are in danger rather rohingya Muslims themselves are in danger.

Davanagere, Jan 16: Congress leader D K Shivakumar on Thursday turned down all the recent media reports of him aspiring for the coveted Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committe (KPCC) president post.

Terming all the news, doing rounds, as baseless, Shivakumar said that he never made any attempt to become KPCC president. "All I want to do is work for my people and party", he asserted.

Referring to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa's visit to Harihar's 'Our Lady of Health Minor Basilica' programme, Shivakumar said."I'm not concerned about what others are doing, everyone is free to take part in the programmes."

Kasaragod, Jul 22: An accused in a POCSO case jumped into the sea at Kasaba Coast near here on Wednesday.

Sources said the accused Mahesh (28), resident of Soorlu Kanhangad, was brought to the groyne ('pulimuttu' in Malayalam) at the coast for collecting evidence.

He escaped from the police and ran around 200 meters towards the sea and jumped into it. The effort to rescue him also failed.

Police, Fire & Rescue officials and fishermen are searching for the body of the accused.

Mahesh was arrested on charge of capturing the video of a minor girl in a washroom on his mobile.

During interrogation, he had told the copse that he had hidden the mobile, which was used to video record the act, near the groyne. Accordingly, the police had brought him to this place.

Kozhikode, Jun 14: A mosque in Kuttichira of Kozhikode has found a unique way to avoid crowding amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The committee that runs the mosque has started issuing smart cards to people for offering prayers and simultaneously encouraging social distancing.

"The committee has given smart cards with numbers to the people in the surroundings of the Masjid. One who enters the mosque premises has to rub their hands with sanitizers. They also have to tell their identity on camera. The automatic system has been put in place to save the address and phone number. Next time onwards they have to say their smart card number only so that other details will be automatically filled," said Muhammad Sajjad, who is part of the Mosque committee.

"The door of the mosque will open automatically after swiping the card. We have fit in a sensor on the doors. We have also made marks inside the mosque area so that people can abide by social distancing norm," he added.

A couple of days back the Kerala government has rolled out an order allowing the opening of places of worship, malls and restaurants from June 9 in strict accordance with guidelines and social distancing norms. As per the guidelines, pregnant women and those with co-morbidities should not visit any places of worship. Those with symptoms should not be allowed.
