New Delhi, Jul 3: In what could be seen as a desperate attempt by the Sangh Parivar to shed its anti-Muslim' image, Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) on Saturday organised an international Iftar' party at the Parliament House Annexe, which was attended by people from different walks of life. MRM is the Muslim wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Although ambassadors from 140 countries were invited for the Iftar' party, the High Commissioner of Pakistan was not invited for the event due to the recent Pampore attack in Jammu and Kashmir.

Altogether ambassadors from nine countries participated in the Iftar party with several academicians, including Jamia University's Vice-Chancellor Prof Talat Ahmad, Delhi University's Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Tyagi and Aligarh Muslim University's Vice-Chancellor Zameer Uddin Shah.

According to MRM chief Mohammad Afzal, they had organised the party to convey a message to the world that India is a country where there is unity in diversity and people from all religions live under single roof and follow their respective faiths. He, however, clarified that it was their own initiative and that the RSS had nothing to do with it.

Warning to Pakistan

Speaking at the Iftar meet, RSS Pracharak Indresh Kumar, who is also the chief patron of MRM, asked Pakistan to stop interfering in India's affairs and instead tackle growing separatism within its boundaries

Kumar warned that Pakistan will be “disintegrate into seven pieces” unless it changes its behaviour. He said several separatist groups mushrooming in Pakistan are threatening the country's existence. “We have conveyed (this) message to Pakistan on several occasions,” he said.

Kumar also criticised AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi for his opposition to the “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” slogan. “A true Muslim,” he said, “will do Haj, but will also say Hindustan Zindabad,” and urged members of the community to be “true” Muslims instead of being “fanatic”.

Union ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Shahnawaz Hussain, BJP spokesperson M J Akbar, several RSS functionaries, and the vice-chancellors of of AMU and Jamia Millia Islamia were among those in attendance.

The Iftar had become controversial after the MRM cancelled invitation to Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit over his casual remarks after the terror attack in Pampore on June 25, that killed eight CRPF personnel.

\True Muslim will do Hajj and will say Hindustan Zindabad\" its pre qualification for newly established religion Sufism..! Founder of this religion is terrorist who is a mastermind for Samjotha express blast and Malegao blast. Some useless fools around him are trying to destroy Islam.
May our one of famous Leader who always travel and trend in social media will adopt this for his journey. Also he attend Sufi convention.
Modi and RSS know better and only Sufism (Shiaism) can divide Indian Muslims into two sects as Shia and Sunni which is undivided till now. Then divide and rule as Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Bahrain etc etc"

Mangaluru, May 28: A pregnant woman who returned from Dubai in a repatriation flight suffered miscarriage after she was allegedly denied entry to her apartment flat and also refused proper treatment in the institutional quarantine.

Fathima was put in a paid quarantine facility after she returned on May 12 flight for her first delivery.

On the second day of her return, she tested negative for Covid-19 in the first test. As per SOP (Standard operating procedures) for pregnant women, she was ready to shift to her apartment, Shivdeep Residency, located at Shivbhag in the city for home quarantine.

However, the members of the Resident Welfare Association of the apartment who got a whiff of her arrival, called an emergency meeting the previous night and reportedly informed the pregnant woman that her entry to the flat would put other residents in trouble and suggested that she stay away.

Sources said the RWA consists of some serving and retired police officials.

With no other go, the woman continued in the paid quarantine.

Treatment for a pregnant woman?

Fathima's father-in-law Azeez Bastikar said the doctors who attended her during the quarantine did not provide proper healthcare required for a pregnant woman and also refused to touch her, out of fear.

Many a time, they did not even check her BP, saying that they ‘forgot to bring the kit’. When her situation worsened, the family members contacted several hospitals in the city but all of them allegedly refused to admit her, fearing the sealing down of the hospital in case she tests positive on the 14th day COVID test.

Finally, the six and half months pregnant woman was shifted to a clinic on Wednesday after her 14th day test had turned negative.

The doctors who checked her found out that she had suffered a miscarriage and operated on her to remove the stillborn. The doctors said further delay would have costed the woman her life.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Azeez Bastikar approached Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, seeking action against the doctors and hospitals who denied treatment and the RWA who refused her entry to the apartment.

Stating that the ill-treatment meted out to her daughter-in-law by doctors and others added to her trauma resulting in the miscarriage, he appealed to the authorities to ensure that no one else is treated in a similar manner.

He said that Fathima and her husband live in Dubai and that she came to India for a safe delivery as the situation was critical in Dubai.

The paid quarantine facility where she had to continue after RWA denied her access, charged her Rs 60,000 for her stay.

Meanwhile, the MCC commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde on Thursday issued a notice to Shivdeep Apartment for refusing Fathima's entry.

The apartment has to respond within three days, failing which legal action will be initiated against it.

Bengaluru, Apr 20: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Monday came down heavily on Congress legislator BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan over the Padarayanapura vandalism that saw a mob run amok against efforts to quarantine suspected COVID-19 persons late on Sunday evening.

Khan, who represents the Chamarajpet constituency where Padarayanapura is located, said that authorities should have gone to the area during day time.

“Who is he to say that? What does he have to do with this? Why should we ask him? Should we get his permission to carry out government work? Instead of saying that action should be taken, he is speaking like this. Should we then think that he incited the mob? This is the height of being irresponsible,” Yediyurappa said.

Following the violence, the police have arrested 54 persons and “five more will be arrested,” Yediyurappa said.

Khan clarified that he did not defend those who indulged in vandalism. “I condemn the incident and action should be taken. I’m not saying officials shouldn’t have gone. My point is that they should’ve gone during the day and by creating awareness beforehand that people need to be quarantined,” he said, adding that the BBMP had identified 57 people to be quarantined in Padarayanapura.

“People in this area are poor, uneducated and are mostly coolie workers and daily wagers. But whatever happened was wrong,” Khan said. He also pointed out that he was the one who arranged for 80 people to be quarantined in Tipu Nagar.

Yediyurappa said the Padarayanapura incident was unprecedented. “In the entire state, never had such incidents taken place. Everybody agrees this is unacceptable,” the CM said. “Whoever breaks the law - Hindu, Muslim, Christian or anyone - should face action,” he said.
