RSS leaders booked for recreating Babri Masjid demolition in Kalladka School

Bantwal, Dec 17: The police on Tuesday registered cases against four members of governing body of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra at Kalladka in Dakshina Kannada district for recreating the Babri Masjid demolition by students during school annual day event.

The cases were booked against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, who runs the school, Narayan Somayyaji, Vasanth Madhav and Chinnappa Kotiyan.  They were booked after a local PFI activist Aboobacker Siddique registered an FIR against them.

The communally provocative event was held on the school campus on Sunday, December 15. Dignitaries who watched the programme included Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi and Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. 

Bedi tweeted about the show and lauded the students’ performance. She said they should get a chance to showcase their talent at R-Day celebrations in New Delhi.

Bedi, who posted a video of the event, said, “Another formation d school children made was of the proposed Shri Ram Mandir at #Ayodhya. All such performances enabled d school ensure all of its 3800+ school children participate in d annual festival of Sri Rama Vidya Kendra, Kalladka village, near Mangalore (sic).”

Udupi, Feb 5: A school boy died after being bitten by a venomous snake while he was returning home from a playground at Perdoor village in Udupi district.

The victim has been identified as Abhinav (9), son of Raju Shetty and Gita Shetty couple from the same village. 

Abhinav had returned from school yesterday evening as usually. He then went out to play. At around 7 p.m. while he was walking towards home, a snake bit him sources said. 

He was immediately taken to KMC Hospital in Manipal, where doctors pronounced him brought dead. 

A case of unnatural death has been registered in the jurisdictional police station.

Mangaluru, Jul 12: Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

He was suffering from fever since the last few days and today his swab results came out positive.

He is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city and his condition is stated to be stable.

Kozhikode, May 21: Six employees of a private clinic here and a taxi driver have been put on mandatory 14 days quarantine as a lady gynaecologist running the dispensary tested positive for COVID-19 in Bengaluru.

District Medical Officer Dr V Jayashree said the gynaecologist had returned to Karnataka a fortnight ago and tested positive while she was on quarantine there. Six staff members of the clinic at nearby Thamarassery and the taxi driver who dropped her inBengaluruon May 5 have been asked to go on quarantine, she said.

Patients had visited the clinic, belonging to the gynaecologist and her doctor husband, till April-end. Sources said the district administration is trying to figure out thecontacts of the gynaecologist, including pregnant women, for being quarantined.
