Bengaluru, Feb 17: The special court in Bengaluru has remanded four accused in the murder case of RSS worker Rudresh in seven-day custody of National Investigation Agency (NIA).

rudreshSpecial judge for NIA cases Gulzarlal Mahavarakar on Thursday allowed an application filed by NIA seeking the custody of Waseem Ahmed, Mujeeb, Sadiq and Irfan Pasha. The NIA had sought their custody citing that certain new facts need to be ascertained by way of custodial interrogation.

P Prasanna Kumar, special public prosecutor for NIA, told the court that the interim order of restraint passed by the high court is only in respect of accused number 5, Asim Sharif, and not against all the accused.

Meanwhile, the high court adjourned to February 23 the hearing on the petition filed by the four, challenging the case and also the suo-motu takeover of the same by the NIA.

The petitioners' counsel argued that the special court did not consider the relief granted by the high court to Popular Front of India (PFI) leader Asim Sharif in the same case recently and passed an order remanding these four to NIA custody.

The main contention was that the Centre has gone beyond the law, referring the matter to the NIA suo-moto without there being any cogent material as well as any request from the Karnataka government.

Rudresh was hacked to death by two men on a motorbike in broad daylight in the Shivajinagar area of Bengaluru on October 16 last year.

According to sources, the investigators did not find any solid evidence against PFI Bengaluru district president Asim Sharif, who was arrested in November last year as fifth accused in the case.

RSS and sangh parivar is behind all these brutal killings. However, NIA is not interested in going deep in the case and arrest sangh terrorists. NIA is after minorities only. Truth always become victorious and hope NIA will have no face to hide its ugly face.

Mysuru, Jan 27: Chief minister BS Yediyurappa on Sunday refused to field questions on the state’s finances, merely saying his budget on March 5 will do the talking. The question came in the wake of Siddaramaiah, leader of the opposition, claiming recently that the state’s coffers were dry and its finances were in the doldrums.

However, Yediyurappa insisted the state’s finances were sound and it will be better once promises made by the business community during his trip to Davos turn into concrete investment.

“I will present the budget for 2020-21 on March 5. People will then know about the state’s financial position,” Yediyurappa said during a visit to Suttur Mutt on Sunday. “I will answer Siddaramaiah’s comments during the forthcoming budget session of the state legislature. The Davos meet I attended will benefit the state immensely. It will bring huge investments that will promote industry and agriculture growth and various job-generation activities.”

Kalaburagi, Mar 7: Congress and JDS MLAs are eagerly waiting to join BJP, said former minister and chairman of Nijasharana Ambigara Choudaiah Abhivradhi Nigama, Baburao Chinchansur, here on Friday.

Speaking at a press conference here, Baburao said if the BJP top brass gives a green signal to include MLAs of other parties, both Congress and JDS would be almost empty. Many leaders, including D K Shivakumar and G Parameshwara, won’t support Siddaramaiah and the former CM will have to find his own way in the coming days, he predicted. He said Congress will not be coming to power in Karnataka for the next 20 years, he said.

Chinchansur thanked Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa for providing Rs 50 crore for Nijasharana Ambigara Choudaiah Abhivrudhi Nigama in the budget. He also said that a delegation will be taken to New Delhi under the leadership of the CM, after the budget session, to pressure the Union government to include Koli community in ST category.
