Salman Khurshid play Saif Ali Khan in `Kal ho naa ho' song remake

New Delhi, Apr 25: German Ambassador Michael Steiner along with actor Saif Ali Khan, his mother, Sharmila Tagore, and Javed Akhtar launched a remake of the famous music video "Kal ho naa ho" featuring Steiner`s wife, Eliese, former foreign minister Salman Khurshid and the ambassador himself.

Salman KhurshidThe project titled "Lebe jetzt!", which means "Kal ho na ho" in German, was launched on Friday at the German embassy here.

Karan Johar, who directed the film "Kal Ho Naa Ho", and Sonu Nigam, who lent his voice to the song, sent video messages for the event from New York and Mumbai respectively.

More than 700 guests were mesmerised with the Indo-German tribute to Bollywood.

"Traditionally, diplomacy has got to do with government to government relations, but modern democracy has got to do with people to people relations and that`s what we`ve achieved through the music video," Michael said.

The song`s lyricist, Akhtar, said, "This music video has proved my worst suspicions right; I`d always suspected that politicians and diplomats are actors, and now we have a documentary proof."

The original video for the song was shot in the US, wherein western outfits were donned by the actors. But the remake was shot in the capital featuring the German ambassador as Shah Rukh Khan and his wife as Preity Zinta in ethnic Indian wear. It also features former foreign minister Khurshid as Saif.

Although the ambassador was thoroughly into the making of the video, he admitted struggling with the lip sync. He also said his wife has a collection of 150 Bollywood movies out of which "Kaagaz Ke Phool" is her favourite.

The evening saw elite guests from the capital including ambassadors from other embassies as well as lawmakers.

Feb 6: The Income Tax Department on Thursday recovered Rs 65 crores from the residence of Tamil actor Joseph Vijay's financer in Chennai during raids which were carried out in the connection with an alleged tax evasion case linked to AGS Cinemas, said sources.

The department is conducting raids and surveys at Actor Vijay, Financer and Producer Anbu Chezhiyan residences.

Around 38 premises have been covered in the raid.

According to IT sources the counting of money is still on so there are chances that the amount will rise. Vijay's wife was at Chennai home when IT sleuths carried out a raid at his residence.

Speaking on the reports of the Actor being intervened during the shooting of the film, the income tax official said, "Actor Vijay was not picked up between his shooting as reported in some media reports."

The actor was shooting for his upcoming film "Master in Neyveli" when he received the news of the raid.

"Actor Vijay had cut short his shooting and returned to his home immediately after getting the news of raids, now the officials are ready to facilitate him to continue his shooting if he wishes to," sources from Income Tax told news agency.

Feb 2: After creating a buzz with her recent low-key marriage, actor and model Pamela Anderson recently broke off her marriage with famous movie mogul Jon Peters, after just 12 days the wedding, reported Fox News.

The couple got married on January 20 in Malibu, California in a private marriage ceremony.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of the couple's split on Saturday stating that the pair has decided to "uncouple."

"I have been moved by the warm reception to Jon and my union. We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to reevaluate what we want from life and from one another," Fox News quoted Anderson saying.

"Life is a journey and love is a process. With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process, "she added.

Fox News further quoted a source close to Anderson as saying, "She's known Jon forever, but she never lived with him, contrary to some reports. And until you live with someone... Well, let's just say Pamela asked for a break. She is heading back to her compound in Ladysmith, Canada, to be with her family."

According to Fox News, the couple did not have any official marriage license.

Jan 2: A young filmmaker was allegedly assaulted by an acquaintance during an argument over CAA-NRC in neighbouring Salt Lake City, police said on Wednesday.

The police have arrested the accused following a complaint by the filmmaker.

According to a senior police officer, the argument over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC) began following a social media post by the filmmaker.

The accused allegedly went to the house of the filmmaker on Monday night and picked up an argument, which led to a scuffle.

"During the scuffle, the accused attacked the filmmaker with a knife," the senior police officer said, adding that the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
