‘Sandola’ marks KMYA Riyadh’s silver jubilee

Riyadh, Apr 14: The silver jubilee of Katipalla Muslim Youth Association (KMYA) was held on April 3 here under the slogan ‘25 varshato sandola’.

The KMYA which has more than 250 enthusiastic members all over Saudi Arabia was established in 1989 with the sole purpose of rendering voluntary service to the underprivileged families in and around Katipalla in Mangalore Taluk. Presently it is carrying out its activities mainly from Riyadh and Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.

The event started with recitation of verses from the Quran by Hafiz e Quran Master Salman bin Ashraf Ullal followed by a welcome address by Mr. Parvez Ali.

KMYA President Sulaiman Abdul Rahaman presided over the function. Guests were welcomed with bouquet by KMYA members. Abdul Qayyom presented a brief profile of KMYA to the gathering.

WhiteStone Al-Jubail was the main sponsor of the event. LuLu Hyper Market, Jareer Medical Center , Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Alwatania Poultry and AlMuhaidib were the co-sponsors. All the key representatives of the sponsors were present at the program. A1 Plastics presented free gifts as prizes for Islamic Quiz & Quran recitation winners & runners.

Chief guest Mr. Mohammed Ashraf Talapady of Lulu Hyper Markets, Mr. Sirajuddin of Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Dr. Salman Akthar of Jarir Medical Center Malaz, Mr. Akthar Sheikh and Basheer Ahmed of Jammiyatul Falah, Mr. Royston Prabhu of KWAR. Mr. Abubakkar DKSC, Mr. Khalid Hamza, President of KMYA Dammam Unit, Mr. Haris and Usman Kunjathur of IFF and Other dignitaries were present at the dais. KMYA President Mr. Sulaiman Abdul Rahaman thanked guests, sponsors and all the members who made the event a big success.

The event witnessed the gathering of all communities from & around Mangalore with peace and tranquility. Various programmes like Quran recitation for children, Islamic quiz, tug of war, housie-housie and other spot games were conducted. A large number of children participated in all the events with great enthusiasm and delight along with other games for ladies.

Parvez Ali, Zubair S.U and Abdul Qayoom were the masters of ceremony. Saif Katipalla entertained the audience with his humorous Jokes & Beary Shayari While Abdul Gafoor & Group entertained the crowd with their well toned Beary & Kannada songs. A Special attraction of the evening was magic show by Mr. Michel from the Philippines made children and elders storm.

Master Salman was felicitated for his achievement in obtaining certificate of "Hafiz-e-Quran" in his age of 6. The organization thanked the various organizations working for the welfare of the community.

KMYA has been organizing and conducting various family get-togethers in Riyadh over the years, they have conducted a number of events and gatherings like Beary Mela, Maikala Mela, Sandola, Sammilana, Orumeppad etc, and also conducting Iftar Party every year in the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

God bless you brother and keep you healthy plus happy always.   You will be in the prayers of those who receivec your timely regardles they are hindu or muslim or christian.   This is a slap on the face of hate mongers who are always trying to divide the socieity in the name of religion.    Such people are burden to this world and society.   We should clean our society from such dirt and bad people.   Well done brother.  May God bless you.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
