Sankeerna’s 6th annual day: An Evening of heart filling Classical delight

Dubai: It was the evening of perfection, dedication, performance, discipline, grace hard work and soulful classical dance of Sankeerna School of classical Dance’s dancing angles and disciples of Guru, Vidhushi Sapana kiran at Indian Consulate Auditorium on April 13.

Program started with the tradition of lighting the lamp by distinguished guest, Guru Sapna and Kiran Kumar. The show began with “Pushpanjali” pleasuring the god with flowers. Dancers devotionally offered their obeisance to the lord of dance Nataraja, the guru and to the audience. Then the talented dancers gave sequence of powerful performances through ‘Kali kauthuvam’ where parvati took the form of Kaali to demolish Rakthabeeja, ‘Ganesha Kauthuvam’,’Thodaya Mangalam’, where dancers invoked blessings from lord Vishnu, ’Devi Sarasvati Stuti’ through the meaningful composition of Kanakadasaru, ‘Adavu’,’Azhagu Deva’,very popular compostion of Shri Purandara dasaru ‘Bhagyada laxmi baramma’ presented soulfully, ‘Adida Nadida’,’ Govinda ninna’ then the girls dedicated yet another breath taking performance to Navadurge through ‘Aiyagiri Nandini’, ‘Vishamkara Kannan’ showcased little adorable Krishna kannayas and sweet little Radhes, ‘Flute Dance’, ’Kuravanji’ added versatility to the show and the dancers ability to perform it flawlessly.

The grand finale performance ‘Dharmakshetra’ the geethopadesha at the war field brought all the audience to the edge of their seats with the soulful music, breath taking dance and abhinaya of Krishna and Arjuna.

During the stage program Chief guest of the evening Chandra Subramani , Bharathanatyam artist and founder member f BHAVA expressed her happiness for quality of the program and dedication of the Guru. She appreciated budding artists and gave her word of encouragement and guidance.

Another guest N Mohan recalled his long association with Sankeerna and expressed happiness for their growth and wished them success. Satisfied and Proud Guru Sapna Kiran delivered vote of thanks to the Guests, parents, student’s audiences and to the press. Felicitated Shri Prakash Rao Payyar well known kannada writer and theater director of Dubai Kannada theater, through his recent drama “Swapnavasavadatte” Sapna Kiran debuted in a lead role as Vasavadatte.   She extended her gratitude to her parents who put her in Classical dance path and Gurus who made her the Dancer of par excellence, family and friends.

Sruti Karthik charismatically compered the program with detailed explanation of each dance form with the evidence and stories from Puranas and Vedas. Her Persuasive language captivated the audience.

Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.
