They commended the Kingdom’s achievements in all fields since the foundation of the Kingdom by the late King Abdul Aziz and his sons, the former kings until the era of King Salman. They stressed that the Kingdom would continue its march toward a comprehensive renaissance in light of Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program.

Culture and Information Minister Adel Al-Toraifi said the ministry is ensuring that Saudi cultural work acquires three elements of powers — creativity, persuasion, expansion — and employment of intellectual exercise to consolidate loyalty to the country, “which must remain rooted in the minds of successive generations.”

Al-Toraifi expressed his thanks to all ministry employees for their efforts, calling for the development of their skills and performance for serving their homeland and spreading its message.

The Council of Senior Scholars stressed that the Kingdom is based on a legacy, foundations, and pillars, making it a distinct country. “It is the country of the Two Holy Mosques and the first house established for the people as Qibla of Muslims.”

Governors highlighted the Kingdom’s achievements in all fields since its foundation, stressing the continuation of the march of a comprehensive renaissance in the light of Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and National Transformation Program.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian Airlines on Friday decorated one of its planes with a new slogan in green, inspired by the banner of Tawhid and the flag of Saudi Arabia, to fly around the Kingdom and the world. It took off from Jeddah to Riyadh en route to Dammam, Madinah and Jazan.

Saudia launched a package of activities and services under the slogan “Nation of Glory.”

A Saudia delegation will deliver cards to the command of the armed forces in Najran and Jazan and will also distribute them among the sons of the soil deployed on the front lines.

A two-day online competition was unveiled on Friday to win 86 tickets.

Saudia also offered a major discount on tickets on both domestic and foreign flights. It announced SR86 as a unified and symbolic value for one-destination flights to and from all internal stations on Saturday.

It also announced a parallel travel offer to and from international terminals, which includes a reduction of 50 percent, according to the published rates. The 10-day offer began on Tuesday and continues until Sept. 30.

The airline will also provide free Internet onboard.

Dubai, Apr 16: Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), unveiled a series of outdoor ads that form part of its new campaign to encourage the community to stay home.

Featuring the slogan 'For My Sake #StayHome for Us', the campaign depicts stunning artwork developed in collaboration with Emirati artist Maitha Demithan. The ads have been displayed on billboards, lamp posts and digital screens across Dubai.

The campaign reinforces the importance of staying at home in line with the strict restrictions on movement put in place by Dubai's Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management as part of intensified measures to combat Covid-19.

Nehal Badri, Director of Brand Dubai, said: "The outdoor campaign, displayed in prominent locations across Dubai, was designed to illustrate the importance of staying at home during the current sensitive period. Using Maitha Demithan's stunning creative artwork, we sought to send out a clear message to the community that staying at home is vital to safeguard the wellbeing of our loved ones.

This project is one of a series of initiatives launched in collaboration with UAE-based artists to raise awareness about the need to unite efforts to protect vulnerable people from the risk of infection."

Emirati artist Maitha Demithan said: "It has been a privilege for me to work on this project and an honour to serve my country through my artworks. The three portraits featured in the campaign create a triptych that represents the people who are the most vulnerable to being infected by the virus. During such difficult times, art can play a crucial role in raising awareness on how to stay safe, but most importantly it can keep everyone inspired. I encourage all my fellow artists and the creative community to continue practicing social distancing and stay connected by using their creativity and innovation to raise awareness during this period."

Brand Dubai partnered with several media outlets, including Media 24/7, Arabian Outdoor Media and Hypermedia to launch the outdoor ads. The ads are displayed on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai Marina.

Dubai, May 5: Saudi Arabian prosecutors have ordered the arrest of a Saudi citizen for insulting an Asian expatriate and abusing him for not embracing Islam.

A video went viral online showing the expat, apparently with little knowledge of the Arabic language, being insulated by an Arabic-speaking man who does not appear in the clip, for having not embraced Islam and for not fasting.

A monitoring centre affiliated with the public prosecution examined the video the content of which “shows the citizen’s use of abusive words against the Asian resident on the pretext of inviting him to Islam,” the prosecution source said.

“The public prosecution closely follows up whatever infringes rights of citizens and residents including harm to their dignity and legal rights regardless of pretexts of such infringement,” the source added.

Mar 21: Qatari authorities arrested 10 nationals for breaking home quarantine rules as Doha tightens regulations amid the coronavirus outbreak, local daily The Peninsula Qatar reported on Saturday.

The Ministry of Public Health released a statement naming the detainees and said that the violators were currently being referred to prosecution.

The tiny country, where expatriates comprise the majority of the population, on Thursday reported eight more infections to take its tally to 470, the highest number among the six Gulf Arab states that have reported a total of more than 1,300 coronavirus cases.

Government spokeswoman Lulwa Rashed Al-Khater told a news conference the new cases included two Qataris who had been in Europe, with the rest migrant workers.

Qatari authorities on Tuesday announced the closure of several square kilometers of the industrial area in Doha, the capital, which also contains labor camps and other housing units.
