Mangaluru, Jul 1: Dakshina Kannada district police probing the murder of SDPI activist Mohammed Ashraf Kalayi, has reportedly nabbed the alleged conspirator Bharath Kumar Kumdelu.

However, senior police officers have remained tightlipped over the media reports that claimed Bharat is being questioned in secluded place.
The police have already arrested six persons in connection with the sensational murder that occurred on June 21 at Benjanapadavu in Bantwal taluk.
On June 23, five youths from Bantwal were arrested. On June 26, one of the main accused Divyaraj Shetty was arrested.
P Harishekaran, IGP (Western Range) had earlier said that murder plot was hatched by Bharat Kumdelu and Divyaraj Shetty, the two rowdy sheeters nearly a month ago with the intention of creating communal unrest in the region. Both of them have close ties with saffron groups.
It could be recalled here that Bharat had shared dais with RSS veteran Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat at a press meet in the city on May 28. U T Khader, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, had demanded the police to conduct a probe into the links between Prabhakar Bhat and Bharat.
