Mangaluru, Feb 5: The Social Democratic Party of India has held Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister U T Khader responsible for the police case against the local leader of the outfit for organising an exhibition related to the demolition of Babri Masjid at Ullal recently.
The jurisdictional Ullal police have registered a suo motu case against SDPI Dakshina Kannada district president Ataullah Jokatte and others in connection with the event accusing them of trying to disrupt communal harmony.
Speaking to media persons here today, SDPI Karnataka state secretary Riyaz Farangipete said that Mr Khader’s hand is behind the suo motu case against SDPI leader.
He said that the case has exposed the double standard and partiality of the police in the coastal district wherein Sangh Parivar leaders repeatedly give provocative statements.
He said that SDPI will launch a massive agitation across the district to condemn the communalism of the police department. SDPI leaders Shahul Hameed, Iqbal IMR, Iqbal Bellare and Munib Bengre were present.
