Bengaluru, Apr 1: Seasonal activist T J Abraham, who is known for targeting Congress leaders, has announced that he would contest in the Karnataka Assembly elections against Ashok Kheny, who is likely to contest from Bidar South constituency on Congress ticket.
Mr. Abraham, who has formed Karnataka Anti-Graft and Environmental Forum, told media persons on Saturday that he has sent an email to both Janata Dal (S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda and Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah offering to contest against Mr. Kheny on their party ticket.
Releasing a copy of the email, he said if neither party responds positively, he would enter the fray as an independent candidate.
“My intention is to defeat Mr. Kheny and check him entering the Assembly,” he said.
Mr. Abraham has been fighting against Mr. Kheny legally on several issues. He also contested against Mr. Kheny in the 2013 Assembly elections as an independent candidate, but secured only 846 votes.
