Al-Khobar, Dec 2: The Social Democratic Party of India supremo A Saeed has said that here was a need of new political movement in India to uphold the country’s sovereignty of the country and its values.

Delivering the key note address on the occasion of Leadership Meet organized by Indian Social Forum (ISF) at Rafah Hospital Auditorium here recently, he said that the people in India have lost trust on so called secular parties.

Mr Saeed opined that the recent election results in India have proved that the called secular have made no effort to counter Modi wave. He went on to claim that elections in India are mere a match fixing game by parties like Congress, Communist, BJP, RSS and corporate giants.

The communal party wouldn’t have come to power had the secular parties made a serious attempt to forge an alliance like Nitish and Lalu did in Bihar recently.

Criticizing Congress, he said internal democracy in the Congress party has totally collapsed in recent days “A couple of decades ago, when Indira Gandhi chose to contest from Chikkamagaluru constituency, many congress leaders like A K Antony had openly opposed her move. But, today we can find a dictatorship within the party,” he said adding that Congress party is far away from the principles of democracy and its ethos and values.

He opined that Left parties too have undergone a paradigm shift and many of their members are migrating towards extreme right, i.e. BJP.

The country has become a safe haven for corporate houses and billionaires while areas like education and healthcare have been losing important, he said adding that media giants also chose to be servants of corporate sector.

In this confused scenario, people from the marginalized groups need to be part of a political movement, with two core agendas: Freedom from hunger and freedom from fear. “We will strive to hand over the power to the people,” he said.

The programme began with a welcome and introductory address by Wasim Sadiq Ali, President of ISF central committee Eastern Province. He said that ISF is a socio political platform of expatriate Indians dedicated for the welfare of the Indian expats. The sole intention of this Forum is to unite the expatriate Indian community cutting across cast, creed and religion and to politically educate them.

Moulavi Jahangir Aroosi, President of ISF Tamil Nadu, Mohammed Shareef Mangalore, President of ISF Karnataka, and Farooq M, President of ISF Kerala were guests. Nasir Koduvali, General Secretary ISF Central Committee Eastern Province proposed vote of thanks. Abdul Samad from Karnataka compered the programme.
