Mangaluru, Dec 19: Sri Rajasekharananda Swami, the chief pontiff of Vajradehi Mutt in Gurupura here, had recently set a deadline for Mangaluru police to bring back an ‘eloped’ bride, has warned of intense protests across Dakshina Kannada districts.

Priyanka (25), a resident of Dharegudde village on the outskirts of the city, has reportedly eloped with her boyfriend Hyder. Her family had made all preparations for her wedding on December 11. However, she left home on December 9.

A few days ago, the family received a letter in the name of Priyanka. The letter stated that she was happy with one Hyder, and insisted that they stop searching for her. The letter further read that the couple will soon appear before the court and that Priyanka has written letters to the DC, the SP and Moodbidri police station.

However, Priyanka’s mother has cast aspersions over the letter, saying the handwriting did not match with that of her daughter. She claimed that Priyanaka has taken 10 sovereigns of gold, passport and Aadhaar card among other items with her.

Accompanied by a group of saffron activists, the seer visited Priyanka's house on Sunday and said that police must produce her before the family by December 22. He expressed dissatisfaction over the police department for its "slow pace" of investigation.

The seer went on to accused organisations like Popular Front of India of trapping and kidnapping Priyanka and forcing her to be with a Muslim youth named Priyanka. “The case should be investigated thoroughly,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal activists have called the case another ‘love jihad’. They alleged that the police were investigating the case for the heck of it. They said though adequate information was provided to them about Hyder, they visited his house only once.

This seer i think has no job but to give illogic/false/unrealistic/anti social/anti humanity / anti communal statemetns.  He does not know what he is saying.  Instead of preaching good thing to public he is diverting them for voilence and hatred.  this is not good dear Seer.

It is really pains to any parent or any reasonable person whenever such incident takes place.

First of all it  is worth thinking to prevent it rather than  give a chance to happen and repent  later.

It happens mostly with most of the non-Muslims and also happens seldom with Muslims.

Here is a point to think deeply, Social Liberalism with Hindus and other communities is much more than their fellow muslim counterparts.

This is the point where our all Hindu and other brethern to think it seriously. Once you allow free mingling in mixed genders,  you can not rule out the possibility of such mishaps, there is a risky chance to happen certaily. Grow your girls in such atmosphere with their own female society whre they freely mingle with ladies than sending them to work and study and mingle in mixed gender environment.

If you practice it 90% of such mishaps can be eliminated. Send them to womens college, if you dont have, we need to create it. Allow them to work with only women.

It is difficult but not impossible.

May God help to protect all our women, men and everyone.

Your brotherly thinker

Newsroom, May 2: The Delhi Police’s move to book Delhi Minorities Commission chairman Zafarul Islam Khan under sedition charges over his social media statement condemning Hindutva bigots has raised many eyebrows.

A pubic statement has been issued in solidarity with Zafarul Islam Khan by a group of NGOs and citizens which condemned the media trial targeting Khan.

The statement demanded legal action against those who are distorting Khan's Facebook post and spreading false propaganda against him.

Delhi Police Special Cell registered the FIR against Khan on the complaint of a Vasant Kunj resident. The complaint came to the Lodhi Colony office of the special cell, after the assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Safdarjung Enclave forwarded it.

The investigation has been handed over to special cell inspector Praveen Kumar.

According to the FIR, Khan has been booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code -- 124 A (sedition) and 153 A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc,).

Khan on April 28 had posted controversial comments on his Facebook page. "Mind you, bigots, Indian Muslims have opted until now not to complain to the Arab and Muslim world about your hate campaigns and lynchings and riots. The day they are pushed to do that, bigots will face an avalanche," Khan had written on Facebook.

However, the Delhi Minorities Commission's chief on Friday had apologised for his controversial remark and had said that he never tried to tarnish the image of India. He also removed the controversial post from the social media and issued a prolonged clarification.

Belagavi, Feb 24: Almost a month after a soldier was reported missing following a trip to Gokak's Godchinamalaki falls, his wife and her lover - who was her car driver - were arrested in Belagavi for his murder.

Police said the accused, Prashant Patil, and two friends tried to throw Deepak Pattanadara, 32, off a cliff after slitting his throat. Deepak's wife, Anjali, had registered a missing case with police on February 4, saying her husband had gone on a trip with friends on January 28 and hadn't returned.

In a twist, Deepak's elder brother lodged a complaint at the same police station, alleging that Anjali was behind the disappearance.

Anjali and Prashant, both 26, were arrested on Saturday while Prashant's two friends are absconding. Deepak's decomposed body has been recovered.

Deepak, who was posted in Delhi and was on the verge of retirement after 14 years in the army, had suspected his wife's alleged affair, police said. He'd bought a car for Anjali in 2019, and since he was home only twice a year, he hired Prashant as the driver. Anjali and Prashant grew close but when Deepak asked Anjali about the affair, she denied it outright.

When Deepak came home during vacation, the duo planned to eliminate him, police said.

Bengaluru, Feb 22: Student activist Amulya Leona, who was arrested on sedition charge after she raised ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans during an anti-CAA event at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park on Thursday evening, has now criticised the organisers of the event for snatching away microphone from her hand.

The event was organised by ‘Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaai Federation’. Soon after she started pro-Pak slogans All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi rushed and tried to snatch mic from her hand. When she continued to speak, her microphone was deactivated.

According to police, the 19-year-old BA journalism student blamed her predicament on the organisers of the protest for not allowing her to complete what she wanted to say on stage.

"Maybe she had intended to say what she had recently posted on her Facebook page where she has said ‘Zindabad’ to all the countries, including India and Pakistan. But it went awry. She was not answering any of our questions, but kept saying she had not done anything wrong," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by a news paper.

The police have booked Leona for sedition and promoting enmity between groups. After her arrest, she was thoroughly questioned by the police for over two hours. After recording her statement, the police produced her before a magistrate in the wee hours of Friday. When she was taken to the judge’s residence, located at the National Games Village in Koramangala, Leona pointed towards the TV cameras and flashed a victory sign.

As the police did not seek her custody, the judge remanded her to judicial custody and she was subsequently taken to Bengaluru Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara. Her advocate is expected to file a bail application in the court on Monday.

When the police took her into custody at Freedom Park and quizzed her, she reportedly did not answer any of their questions but kept insisting that she had not done anything anti-national to be charged with sedition.

"It was the organisers’ mistake to snatch the mike from me before I completed what I had to say. Because of them, I have been arrested today. If they had given me a chance to complete what I had to say, nothing like this would have happened. Now, there is no point in telling you what I intended to speak there. But I can say that there was nothing anti-national in what I did. You can initiate action against me and my advocate will fight the case," a source, citing Leona, said.

The police recorded whatever she said as her voluntary statement and submitted it to the magistrate. "We tried to find out why she did what she did and whether there was anyone else behind her making such a statement. But it appears she had done it on her own," the police official said.
