Several cases registered in Kerala, Karnataka over suspected ISIS links

rajnath Kasaragod, Aug 3: Revolutionary Socialist Party leader and Kollam MP N K Premachandran has said that following a submission made by him in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh stated that, as per reports, persons from various States, including Kerala, who had gone missing reached camps of terrorist outfits such as the Islamic State and that nine cases had been registered in Kerala alone in this connection.

Mr. Premachandran, in a statement, said Mr. Singh informed him that apart from the Kerala, similar cases of missing persons had been reported from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Along with the police from these States, the National Investigating Agency was also investigating the cases.

The Minister said that in connection with the missing persons joining terrorist outfits abroad, 54 persons had been arrested so far. According to information, the IS has launched various plans for making recruitments from India, and that along with the State police, the Central investigation agencies were closely following up the information.

9 missing persons out of 20 crores.....PEA NUTS.... All the fingers of a hand are not equal.... After 5 years, the govt will come back and say, these were wrong reports by Police, as happened in the case of Akshamdam and Hyderabad attacks...

After 10 years everybody will be proved innocent..

Gold worth Rs 2 cr seized at Mangaluru Airport

Mangalore, Jan 15: In one of the biggest seizure of gold in the new decade, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths here have seized five kg of gold valued at Rs two Crore from the Air Cargo Complex at International Airport here recently.

Acting on a tip-off the officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Bangalore and Mangalore in a co-ordinated effort unraveled a unique modus of smuggling of gold through Air Cargo Complex, at old airport, Bajpe Mangalore two days back, According to release issued here on Tuesday evening.

The smuggled gold was concealed in five metal sprockets which were imported by M/s Swaroop Mineral Pvt Ltd of Udupi in the name of “mining conveyor drive chain”.

Employees of Expertise, Al-Muzain all set to fly from Saudi Arabia to Mangaluru through charter flights

Mangaluru, May 29: Even as the thousands of Indian expatriates in Saudi Arabia are waiting for repatriation flights to return to India, a few NRI entrepreneurs are sending home their employees through chartered flights.

The government of India on May 21 had formally approved the repatriation of stranded Indian expatriate workers through chartered flights arranged by their employing companies particularly in Gulf region and elsewhere.

Expertise Contracting Co. Ltd headed by K S Sheik and Al-Muzain Est. headed by Zakaria Jokatte are among those who have hired charter flights to repatriate hundreds of employees to India amidst corona lockdown.

Mr Sheik said that his firm had applied for nine charter flights. "Two of the charter flights will carry 360 people to Mangaluru. Seven other flights will repatriate employees to Delhi, Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai and Hyderabad," he said, adding that the company will bear complete expense of their repatriation and quarantine facility after India.

Mr Jokatte three charter flights will fly from Dammam to Mangaluru International Airport on June 2, 5 and 8 carrying their employees.

No FASTag in Udupi, Dakshina Kannada

Udupi, Jan 16: The mandatory implementation of FASTag, across the country, was not enforced in the toll gates located in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

The toll gate personnel cited that they had not received any directions from the NHAI and hence vehicles were being allowed to ply as per the current practice.

As per government order, two gates each have to be reserved for locals, emergency entry and cash transactions. All other lanes are to be used for FASTag.
