Several cases registered in Kerala, Karnataka over suspected ISIS links

rajnath Kasaragod, Aug 3: Revolutionary Socialist Party leader and Kollam MP N K Premachandran has said that following a submission made by him in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh stated that, as per reports, persons from various States, including Kerala, who had gone missing reached camps of terrorist outfits such as the Islamic State and that nine cases had been registered in Kerala alone in this connection.

Mr. Premachandran, in a statement, said Mr. Singh informed him that apart from the Kerala, similar cases of missing persons had been reported from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Along with the police from these States, the National Investigating Agency was also investigating the cases.

The Minister said that in connection with the missing persons joining terrorist outfits abroad, 54 persons had been arrested so far. According to information, the IS has launched various plans for making recruitments from India, and that along with the State police, the Central investigation agencies were closely following up the information.

9 missing persons out of 20 crores.....PEA NUTS.... All the fingers of a hand are not equal.... After 5 years, the govt will come back and say, these were wrong reports by Police, as happened in the case of Akshamdam and Hyderabad attacks...

After 10 years everybody will be proved innocent..

160 Kannadigas stranded in Kuwait reach Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 17: The first chartered flight repatriating Indians stranded at Kuwait for months landed at the international airport here.

The Jazeera Airways flight privately booked by the Keralites and coastal Kannadigas living in the Arab country had left sometime in the afternoon with 160 passengers on board.

The flight also carried the mortal remains of Sathish Kochu Shetty (45), who died in a fire tragedy at a refinery in Kuwait on June 14.

Kuwait's quota Bill may force 8 lakh expats to return to India

Jul 6: At least 8 lakh Indians may be forced to leave Kuwait as the country's legal and legislative committee has approved a draft expat quota Bill, reported.

The Bill, which states that Indians should not exceed 15 percent of the population, was determined as constitutional by the National Assembly, local media reported.

It will soon be transferred to the respective committee so that a comprehensive plan is created.

Expats account for 30 lakh of Kuwait's 43 lakh population. Indian community constitutes the largest expat community in Kuwait, totalling 14.5 lakh.

The move comes as the number of Covid-19 cases has spiked in the country, with 49,000 cases being reported so far.

166 stranded in UAE reach Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 23: A charter flight carrying as many as 166 people including a child stranded in United Arab Emirates today reached Mangaluru.

The flight was chartered by M Friends Charitable Trust, Mangaluru and My Community Foundation with the sole intention of helping the repatriation of stranded passengers such as pregnant women, elderly people and those who are in need of emergency medical care.

The flydubia flight FZ4617 took off from Dubai at 2 p.m. and landed at Mangaluru International Airport at 7:22 p.m.

The passengers who arrived from UAE hail from different parts of coastal Karnataka and passengers themselves had borne the ticket fare for their travel.

M Friends president Haneef Haji Goltamajalu has thanked representatives of My Community Foundation and M Friends Trusty Ashraf Abbas Kunjattur, M Friends NRI leader Haneef Puttur, general secretary Rasheed Vittla for their efforts in chartering the flight.

In the last three weeks, 13 special flights with around 2150 passengers from various Gulf countries had landed at Mangaluru airport.

Already, throat swab samples of 1814 passengers, who had arrived in Mangaluru, have been tested and 239 people with international travel history have tested positive and the samples of 1,575 passengers have tested negative so far.
