Shahid, Mira strike a pose as 'Mrs. and Mr. Kapoor'

July 8, 2015

shahidmiraGurgaon, Jul 8: Newly-married couple Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput, who tied the knot on Tuesday, came hand-in-hand for a less-than-a-minute appearance for the paparazzi here -- and the couple looked much in love.

A crowd of sorts -- including locals and mediapersons -- had gathered outside Hotel Trident here, where the duo was slated to make an appearance after their wedding, which took place at a Delhi farmhouse. But it was only after a wait of over two hours that media persons got a glimpse of the newly weds in the hotel's lobby.

"Thank you," the 34-year-old actor said to the media after the shutterbugs went clickety-click to capture the couple's beaming smiles.

While Shahid was wearing a sherwani designed by Kunal Rawal, Mira looked elegant and resplendent in a light pink and silver embroidered lehenga with a veil over her head. She sported an elaborate Navratna neckpiece and earrings set, and teamed her look with a 'maang-tika' and a 'jhoomar' on the side of her head.

Shahid and Mira's wedding ceremony was attended by close family members and only a few friends. The 'ladkawalas', as described on Twitter by Shahid's friend and designer Masaba Gupta, who attended the nuptials, wore bright blue 'safas' (headgear for men).

The actor wanted his marriage celebrations to be a close-knit affair and so, only about 50 people are reported to have been present to witness his union with 21-year-old Mira, a graduate from Delhi university's Lady Shri Ram College.

They got engaged earlier this year, and reportedly met at a 'satsang' as both their families are followers of the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas.

Mumbai, May 10: Nearly a month after recovering from the coronavirus, actor Zoa Morani says she has donated her blood plasma to do her bit in helping the patients currently suffering from the novel virus. The actor, who was quarantined and kept under medication in April, also urged those who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate their plasma.

"Donated my blood today for the Plasma therapy trials at Nair hospital. It was fascinating! Always a silver lining I suppose. The team there was so enthusiastic and careful. There was a general physician on standby just incase of emergency and the equipment brand new and safe (sic)," Zoa wrote on Instagram on Saturday.

She thanked the doctors for taking care of her and hoped patients benefit from the donation.

"All #Covid19 recovered people can be a part of this trial, to help others covid patients recover! I hope this works #IndiaFightsCorona. They even gave me a certificate and Rs 500. Wont lie, I felt super cool today (sic)," she added.

Zoa, along with her sister Shaza and father, producer Karim Morani had tested positive for coronavirus in April. All three were discharged from the hospital after testing negative last month.
