New Delhi, Jan 17: Shazia Ilmi, the latest entry in Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has probably deleted old tweets against BJP or PM Narendra Modi from her Twitter account that were dug out by tweeples and went viral on the social networking site.

On Friday, Aam Aadmi Party launched a twitter war against Kiran Bedi and Shazia Ilmi by pulling out old tweets of the two.

In a subtle attack on Ilmi on Wednesday, AAP chief Kejriwal took a swipe at Ilmi by retweeting one of her tweets, dated November 21, 2013 titled ‘Hypocrisy, thy name is BJP’ The tweet by Ilmi, who was in AAP at that time, criticises the BJP and the Congress over its funding.

Founder AAP member Kumar Vishwas posted more than half-a-dozen old Kiran Bedi tweets in which she gave her views on the Congress, the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The tweets were of 2010.

“CM Gujarat has a right for communal harmony. But what if first planned to reach out to families in the need of healing,” said one of the Bedi’s tweet on September 2011.

“One day, Namo (Narendra Modi) will have to respond with clarity about riot massacre,” said another tweet posted by Bedi on March 16, 2013.

On twitter #KiranBedi and Shazia Ilmi were trending, but a sizable number of tweets came from regular AAP tweeple. When asked about Kumar’s tweets, Kejriwal said he will speak to him. “Our old tweets are being retweeted. Then I used to believe in Kejriwal as a leader. There were reasons behind my parting ways with the party. Now in Modi I am seeing a new light,” Ilmi said.

Ilmi, a former aide of Kejriwal, who contested last assembly and Lok Sabha polls on an AAP ticket joined the party today while former top cop and former Team Anna member joined the saffron party yesterday.

New Delhi, Jun 25: The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Centre and the CBSE to issue fresh notification in connection with Class 12 exams, clarifying the option between internal assessment and exams later.

The observation from the top court after it was informed that the CBSE has decided to cancel the remaining board exams for Class 10 and Class 12.

A bench comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar, Dinesh Maheshwari and Sanjiv Khanna asked the Centre to clarify the issue of taking the option between internal assessment and exams later.

"Clarify the date of results," said the bench, noting that the CBSE will have to submit a fresh draft notification cancelling class 12 Board exams and affidavit on Friday morning, before the top court continues to hear the matter again at 10.30 a.m.

The apex court also sought clarity on the beginning of the new academic year.

It told Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, that the CBSE is willing to conduct exams when the situation is conducive, but this may vary from state to state. "Will the decision be taken by a central authority or will the state government take the decision? How are you going to deal with that situation?"

Mehta replied that the decision must be taken according to the situation. To this, the bench said should not the solution be pan-India?

"You have not said when you will decide on this issue, and when you will take stock of these things. Some time frame will have to be given," noted the bench.

Continuing its queries, the bench said: "What about state regional board exams... the CBSE does not hold all the exams. The state Board is also there."

Mehta replied that the instructions from the controller of examinations are that exams are controlled centrally. "State boards assist the CBSE," he replied.

The bench observed that the government should modify the draft notification and include the state board issue. "Clear the stand that decision will be taken at the central level and not at the state level... other courses will have to be delayed till CBSE exam results come out," it said.

Mehta replied the assessment results will be published now, and if a student wants to opt to give the exam, then that will be conducted later. The top court asked Mehta to bring this on record and redraft the notification.

Jaipur, Jul 23: Four days after the Special Operation Group (SOG) sent a notice to Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in connection with the purported audio clips indicating his alleged involvement in horse trading of MLAs in Rajasthan, a city court has directed the Rajasthan police to probe a complaint alleging Shekhawat's role in a credit society scam worth Rs 840 crore.

The additional district judge Pawan Kumar, on Tuesday, directed the additional chief judicial magistrate's court to send the complaint against Shekhawat to the SOG.

Shekhawat, his wife and other partners have been named in the complaint in the Sanjivani Credit Cooperative Society scam in which around 50,000 investors allegedly lost about Rs 840 crore.

The Jaipur unit of the SOG has been probing the scam since last year after an FIR was registered on August 23, 2019.

Now, Jaipur ADJ Court-8 ordered a fresh inquiry in the case against Gajendra Singh accepting the revised application filed by Lagu Singh and Guman Singh and said that "this is a serious matter and hence SOG should investigate this".

Both the applicants had invested a huge amount in Sanjivani credit cooperative society.

It is alleged in the complaint that a multi-storey building has been built with the money instead of a theatre which was proposed earlier and many properties were also bought in Ethiopia with the money.

An SOG investigation also reveals that a large amount of money has been deposited into accounts of Shekhawat and his wife at different time spans, said sources.

Earlier, Shekhawat was not mentioned in the chargesheet filed by the SOG in connection with the case. Later, a magistrate's court also rejected the application to include him in the chargesheet. The applicants then approached the additional district judge's court with a revised application.
