Manglauru, May 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party in Dakshina Kannada wrested six seats from the Congress in the 2018 Assembly elections — the results of which were declared today.

The BJP won in Mangalore City South, Mangalore City North, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady and Moodbidri Assembly constituencies — held by the Congress.

In 2013 had won only Sullia constituency in the district. This time the BJP candidate not only retained it but also increased his winning margin.

Of eight Assembly constituencies in the district, the BJP won seven and the Congress retained the Mangaluru (erstwhile Ullal) seat.

Meanwhile, the seven defeated candidates including former minister B Ramanath Rai and K Abhayachandra Jain have demanded an enquiry into the poll rigging and EVM tampering.

After the results were declared, the seven defeated MLAs led by B Ramanath Rai lodged complaint with the returning officer claiming that they suspect EVM tampering.

“We were confident of winning all 8 seats in Dakshina Kannada. The results are shocking. We demand an impartial inquiry into the possibilities of EVM tampering,” Mr Rai said. He was accompanied by J R Lobo and B A Mohiuddin Bava, the defeated candidates of Mangaluru City South and Mangaluru City North respectively.

Cong. Govt was very good and fulfilled all the promises, good in administration and Overall development and one of the top most Govt in India, and list goes. but still BJP win the election in spite of corrupt leaders, hate mongers and looters. How it is possible?
What is the Reason? Unknown?  Think of it. there is no Anti Cong. Ale,  in karnataka
There is no any major complaint against rulers during periods. one of the best performed govt.
It is very difficult to think that people of karnataka is not ignorant and hate mongers

If we analyse the Reasons may be

1) People may not concern about Janakeeya govt and development work
2)EVM magic may be?
it is not possible to prove EVM tampering because it is highly technical and Election commission and all its engineers may be fully controlled by Sangh Parivar. so there is no value for complaint.
To whom we complaint?
It could be hidden agenda to rule India and its state through EVM. even supreme court and justice is loosing its value. Democracy is almost in end stage

There is a lesson to think. Analyse....
Think......think.......think...... think

Find out the reason......

Bengaluru, Jun 28: Criminal cases will be lodged against people for not adhering to the COVID-19 protocol in the city, said a top police official on Sunday.

"Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) and BBMP (officials) are on the streets to enforce wearing of mask and social distancing. Warnings now, criminal cases will follow," said Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao.

He exhorted people to insist on everybody wearing a mask and maintaining social distance.

"Urge every Bengalurean to enforce mask enforcement and social distancing. If people argue, call 100. We are ready to respond to your calls," said Rao.

Assuring the city residents, he said one should not worry about others being high and mighty while making sure everybody follows the Covid precautions.

"Don't bother about high and mighty factor, whosoever it is, just tell people around you to wear mask and not hanging around neck," said the Commissioner.

On Saturday, DCP Rohini Katoch Sepat conducted a special drive to ensure everybody is following the Covid rules.

"Conducted a special drive along with BBMP marshals, imposed fine for not wearing mask and social distancing," said Sepat.

The senior police officer had also sealed down some shops for not conforming to the social distancing directions.

Sepat personally made announcements through a megaphone, spoke to shopkeepers, pedestrians and walked the streets in enforcing the rules.

Similarly, Rao also warned commercial establishments of raids and legal action in the event of Covid rules violation.

"Shops, malls, banks, hotels, offices and establishments. All of you are already aware of precautions to be taken. If you do not implement mask wearing and ensure safe distance, city police will raid and initiate legal action," asserted Rao.

On Friday, Bengaluru North DCP Shashi Kumar closed down some shops which did not follow Covid rules and rewarded some shopkeepers who adhered to them with roses.

Bengaluru, Jan 24: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Friday said the much-delayed Cabinet expansion will take place in the next three days.

At the Kempegowda International Airport, after his arrival from Davos, he informed that he would discuss the matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take a final decision on the distribution of important portfolios.

Deputy CM Ashwanath Narayna, Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai and others received the Chief Minister at the airport. The issue of Cabinet expansion was kept in abeyance, ever since the spectacular victory of 12 Assembly seats for BJP, for which the by-elections were held recently. The bypolls were necessitated, following the resignation of about 17 sitting Congress and JD (S) MLAs, which resulted in the collapse of the JDS-Congress coalition government in the state.

BJP had reportedly lured the Congress and JD (S) MLAs into their camp, after promising them to give party ticket to contest the elections, as well as ministerial berths. The Chief Minister had kept as many as 16 Cabinet berths, along with plum portfolios, vacant, after forming the BJP government, with the support of the deserted Congress and JD (S) MLAs, in July last. However, the issue of Cabinet expansion had postponed on one reason or the other, as Yediyurappa was struggling to keep the promise he had made to the former Congress and the JDS MLAs, on whose sacrifice the BJP came back to power.

With the strong demand for ministerial berths within the loyal BJP MLAs, the BJP high command had reportedly advised Yediyurappa to accommodate only a few of the turncoat MLAs and strike balance between the groups.

However, Yediyurappa, who had assured the Congress and JD (S) MLAs of giving them Cabinet berths, had been in dilemma ever since and found it tough to convince the party's Central leaders.

According to party sources, the Chief Minister is not only facing problems over the expansion of his Cabinet, but is also worried over the demand for creation of more number of Deputy Chief Ministers, adding to the present list of three.
