Bengaluru, Aug 17: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that he held a discussion with Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on the expansion of his Cabinet.
However, he refused to divulge the details of the discussion.
Siddaramaiah, who came to the national capital along with Rahul Gandhi in the same flight from Bengaluru, told reporters that he submitted a proposal on Cabinet expansion to Rahul Gandhi. After getting the approval, the expansion will take place, he said.
Soon after arriving in Delhi, Siddaramaiah again met Rahul Gandhi along with seven Janata Dal (S) rebel MLAs. These leaders arrived here to seek the Congress ticket to contest the next Assembly polls.
Chief Minister said that these leaders will join the Congress a massive rally to be held at Bengaluru in December or January. All these leaders will join the Congress without any precondition. Several JD(S) and BJP leaders will also join the Congress in the coming days and top Congress leaders will attend the rally, he added.
"In the meeting, Rahul Gandhi promised to protect the 'interest 'of rebele JD(S) MLAs, he said while refusing to elaborate.
