Siddaramaiah gifts his wife Rs 1.08 lakh 'water-proof' saree

siddaBengaluru, Jan 20: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently bought a water-proof silk saree as a special gift for his wife Parvathi.

As per a report in India Today, the orange-coloured saree costed Rs 1.08 lakhs.

The Chief Minister bought the saree during the inauguration of the Karnataka silk industries corporation in Davanagere.

Interestingly, the CM poured a litre of water on the saree to convince himself that it was water-proof before he bought it.

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Hundreds of people gathered to felicitate the newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru on Monday.

"Everyone is a team, I'm not alone. We all are together and we will work together," Kumar had said after his appointment.

Shivakumar was appointed as the chief of Karnataka Congress last week on Wednesday.

Party leaders Eshwar Khandre, Satish Jarkiholi and Saleem Ahmed were appointed working presidents of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

Jan 21: Info Edge (India)'s shareholding in Zomato reduces to 22.71%; Uber receives 9.99% stake in Zomato.

Info Edge (India) announced that Zomato Media (Zomato) has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Uber's food delivery business in India (Uber) in an all-stock transaction, which gives Uber 9.99% ownership in Zomato.

Uber Eats in India will discontinue operations and direct restaurants, delivery partners, and users of the Uber Eats apps to the Zomato platform, effective 21 January 2020.

Upon closing of said acquisition, the company's shareholding in Zomato shall stand reduced to about 22. 71 % on fully converted & diluted basis.

Manjeshwar, Jul 8: Manjeshwar police arrested a man with 10 Kg of Ganja while fleeing away from a checkpoint at Battippadavu last night.

The police said on Wednesday that since the vehicle did not stop they had to chase it and after going some distance the driver lost control over the steering and it met with an accident.

The police immediately arrested the accused and the ganja was found concealed in a gunny bag.
