Clarifying that there were no differences between him and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress MLC C M Ibrahim on Saturday brushed aside the rumours of his plans to join Janata Dal (Secular).
Speaking to media persons after meeting Siddaramaiah at his official residence Cauvery in Bengaluru, Ibrahim said that he would remain in the Congress.
"Siddaramaiah and I are like brothers. There are no differences between us. My defection to the JD(S) is a media creation. I have no intention of leaving the Congress," he said.
Ibrahim said that the Congress would come back to power under Siddaramaiah's leadership.
"My relationship with JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda is good, which is why I had met him. But this doesn't mean that I am leaving the Congress," he said.
Ibrahim said he would participate in programmes attended by Rahul Gandhi.
Upset with Siddaramaiah for denying him a cabinet berth, Ibrahim was hobnobbing with the JD(S), the party he quit 12 years ago. However after becoming an MLC, Ibrahim has never uttered a word against Siddaramaiah.
