Mysuru, Sept 11: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday said he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to make provisions for bank examinations, organised by the Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection, to be written in Kannada.
Siddaramaiah said, “A delegation from the Kannada Development Authority has already visited the authorities concerned and I will write to the prime minister.”
Knowledge of Kannada is necessary for officials for the smooth functioning of banks, he said.
When asked about the derecognition of courses offered by the Karnataka State Open University by the University Grants Commission, the chief minister said he had written to the prime minister in this regard.
Siddaramaiah said irregularities committed by a former vice-chancellor of the varsity resulted in the derecognition.
