Siddaramaiah's expressions resemble Duryodhana, says C T Ravi

Chikkamagaluru Jan 22: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's body language and expressions resemble the character Duryodhana in the Indian epic Mahabharatha, remarked BJP General Secretary C T Ravi.

"The Congress government in the state is definitely a 'Kaurava' government and Siddaramaiah is 'Duryodhana', its head," Ravi quipped.

He was speaking at the BJP's special district meeting here on Monday.

"The CM has said that the upcoming Assembly poll in the state is Kurukshetra war wherein Congress is the Pandava side and BJP is the Kaurava side. But the Congress government is tainted with corruption, murders, rapes and communal clashes. How can it be the Pandava side?" he questioned.

"Lord Krishna is on the side that is Pandava. You have no mind to see Udupi Sri Krishna. You behave like enemies of Krishna. How can you be Pandavas?" Ravi asked Siddaramaiah.

"Sri Krishna is a protector of cows. The state is protecting beef eaters. People who publicly eat beef are in your midst. During the time of the Pandavas, there was peace and plenty," he said.

"If Siddaramaiah's mindset changes then he will safe. He is courting danger if he tries to plays vote bank politics," Ravi added.

Udupi, May 29: As many as 15 fresh coronavirus positive cases were reported in Udupi district today. 

11 among the new 15 covid-19 patients are males and four are females. The patients also include two children aged 6 and 7.

All of them are said to be Maharashtra returnees. 

With this, the total confirmed covid-19 cases in the district mounted to 164.

Bengaluru, Jul 26: A total of 5,199 new COVID-19 cases and 82 deaths were reported from Karnataka on Sunday, the state's health department said.

With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in the state stands at 96,141, including 58,417 active cases and 35,838 recoveries.
So far, 1,878 deaths have been reported from Karnataka.

Meanwhile, India reported a spike of 48,661 cases and 705 deaths in the last 24 hours, said the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.

A total of 9,46,777 tests have been done so far and the number of tests per million in the national capital stands at 49,830.

The total COVID-19 positive cases stand at 13,85,522, including 4,67,882 active cases, 8,85,577 cured/discharged/migrated, and 32,063 deaths, it added.

Dubai, May 5: Saudi Arabian prosecutors have ordered the arrest of a Saudi citizen for insulting an Asian expatriate and abusing him for not embracing Islam.

A video went viral online showing the expat, apparently with little knowledge of the Arabic language, being insulated by an Arabic-speaking man who does not appear in the clip, for having not embraced Islam and for not fasting.

A monitoring centre affiliated with the public prosecution examined the video the content of which “shows the citizen’s use of abusive words against the Asian resident on the pretext of inviting him to Islam,” the prosecution source said.

“The public prosecution closely follows up whatever infringes rights of citizens and residents including harm to their dignity and legal rights regardless of pretexts of such infringement,” the source added.
