Bengaluru, Nov 28: BJP national president Amit Shah alleged on Sunday that the Siddaramaiah government in Karnataka was the "most corrupt" in the country.

Addressing a rally of other backward classes (OBC) in Bengaluru, Shah urged the people to vote the BJP led by BS Yeddyurappa in the 2018 assembly polls, to ensure Karnataka becomes one among the top five states in the country .

"Every time when there is talk of corruption, we get to hear the name of Karnataka," said Shah, to rousing cheers and applause.

He said the state had, under Congress rule, lagged behind other states in terms of development, and people want to bring down the regime in the next election.

"Once you bring Yeddyurappa back to power, Karnataka will see the transformation and it will become one of the fastest growing states in the country," Shah said.

Central schemes

Shah went on to charge the Congress government in the state of not allowing Central schemes to reach the people, especially the poor and the farmers. He said that for political gains the state government was creating hurdles and depriving the people of the schemes launched by the NDA government during the last two-and-a-half years.

“We have launched 54 schemes for the poor and the farmers since coming to power. They have reached the nook and corner of the country and are being appreciated. But the people of Karnataka are being deprived of the same by the state government,” Shah said.

Taking an ambitious pledge, BJP state president Yeddyurappa earlier said he would resolve the Cauvery and Mahadayi river water disputes within 24 hours of returning to power in the state.

"The Congress government has never been serious about resolving the Cauvery and Mahadayi river water disputes. Given a chance to become chief minister for another term, I will ensure it is resolved within a day ,'' said Yeddyurappa. He said he would waive crop loans of farmers and provide 24-hour free electricity, all within 24 hours of assuming office.

Eshwarappa, who purportedly launched a Sangolli Rayanna brigade to lure the Kuruba vote bank from Siddaramaiah -regarded as the champion of the community -and counter the rising dominance of Yeddyurappa in the party, said: "In the name of the Kuruba community , he assumed power. But what has he done in the past three years for the community?"

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ananth Kumar said there will be two more occasion when the BJP will beat the drum (nagaari): when the party will launch its full-fledged “electoral war” against the Congress government and when Yeddyurappa is “crowned” the next chief minister of the state.

Biggest and top most corrupt man of the country is amit shah. So we can only expect such statements and actions from him to bring corrupt people to power. The whole country knows that yeddi is most corrupted politician. The problem with our countries some people who elected such thieves is that they themselves are corrupted.

This bull shit should be booked for making allegation on Siddu Govt. He should be banned from entering in our state. He is a liar and was in jail for wrong doings. He is a dhongi baba and big dacoit. Its shame for BJP to have such culprit as their party president (99.9% of bjp people are big shots and liars that is another issue). this beggar shah is trying to justify his wrong doing by pointing his finger towards Karnataka Govt. State Govt should file a defamatory case against this barker. Dont let him enter in Karnataka state any more. He only vomits hate in his speech as he has nothing to say truth.

Bengaluru, Apr 29: Janata Dal-Secular leader and former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy on Tuesday accused the central government of writing off loans of those who are facing charges of fraud.

In a series of tweets, Kumaraswamy slammed the central government.

"Really? At a time when the whole world is worried about unprecedented economic emergency, writing off Rs 68,000 crore loans of willful big fish defaulters became the best antidote to the economic crisis? And how is 50k cr package to mutual funds going to help the common man?" he tweeted.

In another tweet, Kumaraswamy said that "Billionaire scamsters like Vijay Mallya, Mehul Choksy, Sanjay Junjunwala seem to be very dear to this government".

"Na khaunga, na khane dunga" is yet another jumla unraveled. Billionaire scamsters like Vijay Malya, Mehul Choksy, Sanjay Junjunwala seem to be very dear to this government. The poor are dying by the roadside, farmers are desperate, the middle class is faced with economic doom.

The government has done little to help. But it writes off loans of those who are facing charges of fraud! What patriotism! What nationalism!" he tweeted.

Bengaluru, Jan 8: The second instalment of flood relief funds from the Centre, announced on Monday, has left BS Yediyurappa less than cheerful, with the chief minister insisting that it is barely adequate. The CM on Tuesday said he will urge the Union government to release more.

On Monday, the Centre announced it will release Rs 669.8 crore in addition to the Rs 1,200 crore it had released earlier towards flood relief and rehabilitation. The total sum is a small fraction of the loss, which the government pegged at a staggering Rs 38,000 crore.

“The Centre has released assistance in two instalments so far, but it is inadequate given the magnitude of the damage. I will request for more funds and I am confident the Centre will oblige,” Yediyurappa told reporters.

When Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited the state last week, Yediyurappa had urged him — even openly at a function — to release funds. This followed several pleas over the past four months, which barely drew a response from the Centre. Now, the CM himself suggests it’s barely a drop in the ocean.

The opposition has been criticizing both Yediyurappa and the Centre for their handling of the situation and on Tuesday, leader of the opposition Siddaramaiah of the Congress criticised the CM for “misguiding people” on the sum released by the Centre.

Siddaramaiah tweeted, “Reports from State govt officials say only Rs 669 cr of addl funds are released in 2nd instalment as opposed to the claim of Rs 1,870 cr by Karnataka BJP leaders. At a time when manufacturing industries are closing, BJP’s fake news factory is running at full potential ".

In another tweet, he said, “Moved by the plea of chief minister, Yediyurappa, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released an additional Rs 669.8 crore, taking the total amount to Rs 1,869.8 crore. BJP leaders, who are devotees of the god of lies, attempts to depict the total relief amount as 1200+1869.85 = Rs 3,069 cr is ridiculous.”

A high-level committee chaired by Union home minister Amit Shah had sanctioned the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) funds on Monday. While the Press Information Bureau claimed Rs 1,869 crore was approved on Monday, state government officials clarified that the figure included the Rs 1,200 crore released in October.

Meanwhile, sources say the two instalments is all the assistance the state can expect from the Centre towards flood relief. Sources say the Rs 1,870 crore is roughly 60% of the funding — Rs 3,000 cr— which was supposed to be allocated for Karnataka, based on an inter-ministerial team’s assessment of losses in the state.

“Compared to other states for the same period, Karnataka has received the highest amount in flood relief. We cannot expect more,” said a revenue department official, who said the government will not approach the Centre for a special package.

However, revenue minister R Ashoka said the state will pitch for the entire Rs 3,000 crore. “The state government will pursue the matter with the Centre until it releases the entire Rs 3,000 crore. The state government will cover the remainder of the Rs 38,000 crore loss. We will not go back on our word,” Ashoka said. Incidentally, the state has spent about Rs 6,000 crore on relief and rehabilitation so far.
