SIT continues raids on IMA, seizes more gold, silver from its two shops

Bengaluru, June 26: The Special Investigation Team, appointed to investigate Multi-Crore IMA fraud case, have seized Rs 83.26 Lakhs worth Gold ornaments and Silver articles during raid at two places including IMA Gold Yeswantpur and IMA Gold Tilak Nagar in the City.

According to a press release by the Police here on Wednesday, while 1 kg 300 gram gold ornaments worth about Rs 41.60 lakhs, 5.5 kg Silver articles worth about Rs 2.20 lakhs and Cash Rs 2000 were seized at Tilak Nagar shop, 970 gram Gold ornaments worth about Rs 31.04 lakhs and 21 kg Silver articles worth about Rs 8.40 lakhs was seized from Yeswanthpur shop.

Questioning of 12 Directors arrested in connection with the Fraud is continuing and Mohammed Mansoor Khan, against whom Blue Corner notice was already issued and his Passport cancelled, is yet to be arrested.

Bengaluru, Apr 16: Special Investigating Team (SIT), headed by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Sandeep Patil, subjected former underworld don turned social activist Muthappa Rai in connection with gangster and underworld don Ravi Poojary's criminal cases.

Sandeep Patil, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) said that the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Venugopal and police inspector Bulletin have questioned Rai in his house for more than two hours about Ravi Poojary case.

Muthappa Rai was allegedly one of the accused in builder Subbaraju murder case. They both were allegedly close in the initial days and they were like a team, said a senior officer. So Rai was questioned about their connection. Rai, who reformed himself many years ago, is into business and social service at present.

Mangaluru, Apr 18: A case has been registered against a man for spreading communal hatred by sharing objectionable and sensitive posts on social media, Commissioner of Police Harsha said here on Saturday.

In Twitter Mr Harsha wrote, ” We have registered a case against a person claiming himself as Vishwa, Mangalore for making Statements promoting enmity and hatred between communities on social media with crime number 46/20 at the south police station under 505 IPC.”

He further warned, “We will not spare anyone trying to disturb communal harmony in the district.”

Mysuru, Feb 1: The local police have arrested a man stabbed his irresponsible wife after she apparently hurt him with her naughty TikTok videos in Periyapatna of Mysuru district.

According to police, Srinivas stabbed his wife Savitha for TikTok videos where the latter featured with a different man.

The couple was not in good terms and was staying separately since few years. Savitha was residing in Mysuru and she used to send TikTok videos posing with another man to Srinivas.

The couple had two children, who reside with Srinivas, who was upset with the videos and invited Savitha to the birthday party of one of their children at Periyapatna.

He attacked her with a knife soon after she reached the function venue, Police said.
