Bengaluru, Aug 16: The situation in flood ravaged districts of Karnataka continued to be grim despite there is considerable let off in the devastation.
The State Government, just two months back-- in June and July-- had declared more than 175 Taluks as drought prone and there was huge cry for drinking water and to delay in entry of South West Monsoon had added to the woes faced in villages.
But the dry-spell situation was changed in the beginning of August month as most of the Northern Karnataka districts were facing alarming flood situation following release of huge quantum of water from various reservoirs in Maharashtra to the state.
