Bangalore, Jul 21: A 30-year-old skating instructor was arrested on Sunday on the charge of raping a six-year-old girl student at Vibgyor High, Marathahalli.

The suspect, Mustafa alias Munna, is a native of Darbhanga in Bihar and the father of a five-year-old girl. He has been working in Vibgyor High since 2011.

The police seized a laptop and a mobile phone from him. The laptop contained “incriminating pornographic videos of schoolgirls being raped, which he had downloaded from the Internet,” Bangalore Police Commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar told the media at a hurriedly convened press conference at HAL police station.

The police said Mustafa is a pervert who derives pleasure from watching videos of schoolgirls being raped.

He had been showing such video clips and nude pictures to girl students at Vibgyor High as well as at another school in Whitefield where he was employed earlier.

Mustafa was also in the habit of clicking nude pictures of schoolgirls.

Auradkar did not give details of the incident that took place on July 2.

However, he said: “There are complaints that he was involved in several such cases in another school as well. The police believe they could be genuine as they are oral complaints received from highly reliable sources.”

To a query, Auradkar said: “I don't think the school management verified his antecedents before appointing him.”

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order-East) K V?Sharathchandra said it was basic policing that helped arrest Mustafa. The police zeroed in on him based on some clues.

The suspicion strengthened after the police found pornographic content on his laptop. On interrogation, he admitted to raping the minor.

Mustafa did not destroy the evidence and presumed his act would go unnoticed. It is not known if he wanted to experiment the “acts in the video clips that he downloaded from the Internet”, Sharathchandra said.

The police said they believe another school staff is also involved in the incident and he would be arrested soon. Mustafa has been booked under IPC Section 376 (rape) and Sections 4 and 6 of POCSO Act, 2012. He was arrested from his house on Ramakrishna Road in Varthur.

Mustafa's father Murthuja is a car driver and mother, a maid servant. They moved to Bangalore about 20 years ago to eke out a living.

Mustafa completed schooling in Bangalore and did his BPEd from a private college in Raichur.

Police said they will produce him before the court and seek his custody as they need to continue the investigation. He will also be subjected to a medical examination.

Auradkar said Mustafa was drawing a salary of Rs 18,000 per month. But he owned three expensive laptops and a mobile phone.

The police will also probe how he managed to buy such expensive gadgets.

Bengaluru, Apr 7: Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Siddaramaiah on Monday urged Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to announce a special package to help farmers, agriculture labourers and also working class in various sectors who are affected by the lockdown.

Mr Siddaramaiah put forth his demands during a telephonic conversation and the Chief Minister positively responding to it informed that he will formulate a programme keeping in mind the suggestions made by the Opposition, a statement from the LoP's office said.

It said, the Chief Minister also spoke to Mr Siddaramaiah regarding the government's decision to stop supply of free food for poor and needy through Indira Canteens.

Mr Siddaramaiah on Saturday had written to Yediyurappa urging him to utilise Indira Canteens efficiently and provide food for poor and needy until the coronavirus crisis and lockdown is over.

The former Chief Minister's letter had come a day after the state government had decided not to provide free food at Indira Canteens as concerns were raised about the quality and misuse that was happening.

It had, however, decided to continue to provide subsidised food- breakfast at Rs 5 and lunch and dinner at Rs 10, as usual.

Mr Yediyurappa during the phone conversation on Monday appraised Siddaramaiah that the decision to supply food by fixing a price was taken to stop misuse that was happening.

Mr Siddaramaiah, however, insisted the government should provide food free of cost to the poor and needy, by taking care that misuse doesn't happen.

The senior Congress leader asked the Chief Minister to take action against errant officials who allowed misuse to happen, the statement said, adding that Yediyurappa has promised to look into it.

Initially, the government last month had decided that the state subsidised Indira Canteens would provide food packets free of cost to the poor and needy in the wake of the lockdown.

Bengaluru, Aug 2: Bengaluru based Centre for Advanced Research and Development (CARD), the research wing of organisation De scalene has come up with a device called "SHYCOCAN" (Scalene Hypercharge Corona Canon) which neutralizes the coronavirus.

Speaking to news agency Dr Rajah Vijay Kumar, Chairman, Organisation De Scalene said that the device will not kill any bacteria or fungus, however, neutralizes the coronavirus particles.

"The device was tested for its safety and efficacy and is soon going to be manufactured and marketed in the US under the Enforcement Discretion policy of USFDA and in Europe as the device is CE compliant and is CE marked," said Kumar.

He also added the device will cover a volume of 10,000 cubic feet.

The device Scalene Hypercharge Corona Canon (SHYCOCAN) is intended to be used in the residential, industrial and commercial environment and is designed for active containment by attenuation of Corona family of viruses. (Laboratories de Especialidades Immunological S.A. de C.V, Virucidal Activity concludes 99.9 per cent virus elimination), Kumar asserted.

"SHYCOCAN operates on regular 110/240V - 50/60 Hz wall socket and is a plug and play device, that delivers the necessary signals to a photon mediated electrons emitters (PMEE), that produces hypercharge high-velocity electrons by photon mediation that interacts with the negative seeking S-protein of Corona family of viruses thus reducing infectivity and prevent air and surface borne transmission of corona family of viruses," said Kumar.

The device does not use any chemicals, or any other consumables and does not produce harmful ozone gas or any other substances and is completely safe for use in any environment, he added.

"The attack mechanism of the Virus starts with the initial attachment of the virion to the host cell, it is initiated by interactions between the S-protein and its receptor on the "negative" cell membrane. The sites of receptor binding domains (RBD) within the S1 region of a coronavirus S-protein vary depending on the virus.

The S-protein/receptor interaction is the primary determinant for a coronavirus to infect a host species and governs the tissue tropism of the virus. However, the end result is the fusion and release of the viral genome into the cytoplasm," said Kumar.

He continued saying that the counter mechanism by the device SHYCOCAN is that if negative seeking is the guidance mechanism of the S- Protein, attracted by the transmembrane potential of the host cells, then breaking this mechanism would block the Coronavirus infectivity and spread.

"The device has been in use for more than a year at the S-CARD campus, the headquarters of Scalene," said Kumar.
