Udupi, Aug 25: The will purported to be left behind by Bhaskar Shetty, NRI businessman from Udupi, has suddenly surfaced, with the murder case entwined with huge assets belonging to Shetty taking yet another turn.

Shetty was allegedly done to death by his wife Rajeshwari, son Navaneeth and priest Niranjan Bhat. The case hit headlines as the plot threw up turns and twists like a potboiler a year ago.

Shetty is believed to have been smothered to death at home after being attacked, before his body was disposed of in a ‘homa kund’ and the bones dumped in a water body.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, advocate Chidananda Kedilaya, who has been handling the civil disputes related to Rajeshwari said Gulabi Shetty, the mother of Bhaskar Shetty, has submitted a copy of the will to the court of the third additional civil judge on August 9 (under OS number 684/16), after moving an additional application (through her counsel) in this regard.

However, the objection will be filed, as there is no question of a person who is still presumed to be dead (as the dead body is yet to be recovered), leaving behind any will.

Kedilaya, who vouched on many things happening behind the scene, said the property is also being misappropriated.

Continuing, Kedilaya said, while the case is yet to be solved in the court of law, the police have filed a preliminary charge sheet along with a death certificate. While the police are yet to recover any mortal remains, the place of death is mentioned as Karkala in the preliminary charge sheet. It is mentioned as Nandalike in the additional charge sheet submitted to the court.

Kedilaya said, he had served a notice on both Udupi Municipality Commissioner and also tahsildar for granting the right of audience. However, the death certificate was issued based on the charge sheet prepared by the police.

Following the court order, status quo is being maintained with regard to hotel and other business concerns of Shetty, with Rajeshwari being a partner of the umbrella firm, Kedilaya added answering to a query.

The passion of young  Ms Tabassum and Social Working of today, particularly, gives me lot of hope.  It almost feels like the political class wants to bring down India while the people are so hard working and committed to nation building.

Congratulation Miss. Way to go.

Bengaluru, May 3: The Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare Services in the government of Karnataka KA Dayanand issued an order approving quarantine of asymptomatic COVID-19 infected international passengers on payment basis at star hotels.

The international passengers in the state have been categorised into A, B and C groups depending on their symptoms and co-morbid conditions. Category A passengers are symptomatic and are being sent to isolation hospitals which may be COVID care centres.

Category B and C passengers are asymptomatic and are being sent to institutional facilities like hostels, guest houses, hotels, etc.

"On the basis of demands by category B and C passengers to provide them star hotel accommodation on a self-payment basis, they have been granted the choice of staying in those hotels at their own cost. The BBMP Special Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner can have a meeting with such hotels and finalise the negotiated rate," Commissioner Dayanand said in the order.

"The hotels for category B passengers should have round the clock presence of health personnel while hotels for category C passengers should be visited by health staff once a day," he added.

Madikeri, Mar 29: In an alarming situation in neighbouring Kerala State and instances of inter-state migration of Coronavirus suspects, the authorities on Sunday sealed both Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu borders, prohibiting entry of people from Kerala into Karnataka.

Dakshina Kannada had sealed its borders after repeated instances of people misusing ambulance services to travel to Mangalore. Villagers along with the police hauled mud on to the roads that were used as alternate routes.

The road that connects the two States, which people from east Kasargod used to enter into Karnataka, were closed at Mulleria by dumping mud on the road.
