New Delhi, Feb 26: Sridevi, who died suddenly in Dubai at the age of 54, leaves behind her a broken-hearted world, among them filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma who has been vocal, and frequently so, about his adoration of the actress. RGV, as he is known, posted a series of tweets and shared a collection of memories about Sridevi - how he used to walk from actor Nagarjuna's office to Sridevi's Chennai home and his first ever meeting with her for a film. "I hate God for killing Sridevi and I hate Sridevi for dying," RGV titled his post. He also tweeted: "Is Sridevi really dead? Can somebody wake me up and tell me it's just a bad dream?" and posted old pictures of himself with the late star.

If Ram Gopal Varma seems lovelorn in his posts, he was publicly so when Sridevi was alive. RGV, who directed the actress in the films Kshana Kshanam and Govinda Govinda, dedicated a whole chapter in his autobiography to her. He has also waxed eloquent about his disappointment seeing Sridevi in a domestic role after she married producer Boney Kapoor. "Everyone can have a crush on anyone, be it on a real person or a celebrity, you enjoy that feeling of high. It is almost like a drug. To see Sridevi making tea in Boney Kapoor's kitchen was a huge letdown. I won't forgive him because he brought the angel down from heaven to the kitchen of his apartment," he told news agency in 2015.

By all accounts, Ram Gopal Varma's publicly professed admiration for his wife didn't go down at all well with Boney Kapoor who reportedly sent the filmmaker a legal notice after he changed the name of a planned film from Saavitri to Sridevi in 2014.

Sridevi died yesterday of a cardiac arrest in Dubai where she and several family members were attending the wedding of actor Mohit Marwah, a nephew of Boney and Anil Kapoor. Star of films such as Chandni, Lamhe, Mr India and Nagina, Sridevi's last film was 2017's MOM. She will be seen posthumously in a special appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's Zerolater this year.

Sridevi is survived by her husband and daughters Janhvi and Khushi.

Mumbai, Jul 27: Reel life villain Sonu Sood turned real life hero once again, this time by gifting a tractor on Sunday to a farmer in a remote village in Andhra Pradesh to help him till the land. The actor came up with the gift after coming through a video clip on Twitter wherein a tomato farmer in Madanapalle in Chittoor district was seen ploughing the land with his two daughters carrying the yoke on their shoulders.

In his instant reaction, Sood promised a pair of ox to the farmer, but later said the family deserved a tractor. "So sending you one. By evening a tractor will be ploughing your fields. Stay blessed," Sood, who acted as a villain in numerous Telugu films, said in a tweet.

True to his word, a new tractor was delivered to the elated farmer Nageswara Rao at his Mahalrajupalle village by Sunday night. Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who belongs to Chittoor district, hailed the actor's gesture.

"Spoke with @sonusood ji and applauded him for his inspiring effort to send a tractor to Nageswara Rao's family in Chittoor district. Moved by the plight of the family, I have decided to take care of the education of the two daughters and help them pursue their dreams," Naidu said in a tweet.

Rao's elder daughter completed her Intermediate while the second one passed Class 10. Rao used to run a tea stall in Madanapalle before coronavirus left him out of business. He returned to his native Mahalrajupalle village to take up agriculture once again.

Given his penury, he could not hire either a pair of bulls or a tractor to till the land, when his daughters volunteered to help him on the chores. Their plight went viral on social media following which the actor stepped in with help.

Mumbai, Jun 4: Casting director Krish Kapur, who had worked on films like Mahesh Bhatt's Jalebi and Kriti Kharbanda-starrer Veere Ki Wedding, passed away at the age of 28 due to brain hemorrhage, his family said.

There was speculation that Kapur died in a road accident but his maternal uncle, Sunil Bhalla, dismissed the reports, saying that the casting director fainted at his home in suburban Mira Road here and suffered brain hemorrhage.

According to Bhalla, Kapur breathed his last on May 31.

"He had no medical history. He was healthy and doing absolutely fine. On May 31, he just collapsed and started to bleed. He died of brain hemorrhage," Bhalla said on Wednesday.

Kapur is survived by his mother, wife and seven-year-old child.
