SSQ KPL-2: ATL Samcon beat Al Aithan, crowned champions

Al Khobar: Academy ATL Samcon emerged champions at SSQ KPL season-2 after defeating Al Aithan team on final match at SABSA ground, Rakah, Al Khobar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This is one of the mega cricket event in Saudi Arabia was organized by SAB sports academy under the leadership of Sadhiq Kaup assisted by Mohd Iqbal and Fayaz Mohammed with the support and guidance of Salahuddin Salman, chairman of SAB.

The event was inaugurated by CEO of SSQ Muhammed Hussain on October 27. 16 teams participated from KSA (Yanbu, Riyadh, Alkhobar and Jubail) as well as a team from Qatar.

In a colorful closing ceremony, ATL Samcon awarded a shining KPL trophy with a cash prize of INR 600000 & Al Aithan team bagged runner up position with a cash prize of INR 250000 and KPL runners trophy. Semi finalists SAB Warriors and Amaco were also awarded trophy with INR 75,000 each.

Adil of ATL Samcon was adjudged man of the match in the final. Salahuddin Salman from SAB Warriors was crowned man of the series with Pulser motor bike. Raees from Al Aithan bagged the best batsman of the tournament. Sampath of Al Aithan was awarded best bowler of the tournament. Amaco Jubail also bagged special award for being the most disciplined team.

Speaking at on the occasion Mangaluru North MLA Mohiuddin Bava appreciated the organizers and sponsors for holding such a tournament to promote cricket among overseas youth.

SAB chairman Mr. Salahuddin Salman and Mohammed Hussain CEO of SSQ wished all the players and organizers. Tawoos Faleh Qahtani, CEO of Tawoos Petroleum Services and Logistics, Mohammed Asif, CEO of Amaco Jubail, Syed Ashraf, ATL chairman, Aboobakkar, Raisco Riyadh chairman, Mr. Mubeen from Table Four, Shakeel Saleh Al Saleh from Samcon, Rehman, Sachin, Gopal Shetty were present among others.

Mansoor M.H welcomed. Samad Jubail and Mansoor added more life to the match with their commentary. Sadiq Kaup proposed vote of thanks.

SSQ Team it was a Well organized tournament,congratulations to the winners teams and well played team AITHAN, outstanding performance by both the team.
Organizers we thank you for this great tournament, it was a homely environment and we look forward for many more such events ahead.

One of the worst tournament in the Eastern Province . It is not KPL cricket tournament as it is a KPL Business Tournament

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.
