Stranded in Kuwait 2 Indian expats return home safe

Kuwait: With the timely intervention of Indian Social Forum Kuwait, 2 non-resident Indians returned home safely. Ibrahim from Bangalore and Jayasankar of Tamil Nadu are the 2 victims who had come to Kuwait in search of employment and stranded in Kuwait for nearly 20 months after falling in to the trap of false promises of visa agent. Upon knowing their situation, Indian Social Forum rescued them from this crisis and succeeded in repatriating them.

The Indian Social Forum (ISF), which is working for the welfare of the weaker sections among the expatriates by taking active part in identifying their problems and helping them to resolve the same through possible ways including legal and government channels, appealed Indians who seek employment abroad to take necessary precautions about the fraud visa agents.

Hailing from RT Nagar Bangalore, the 38-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed Yasin who was running his own business as painting contractor in Saudi Arabia and 48-year-old Tamil Nadu origin Jayasankar Manikkamare the two who came to Kuwait in search of new job as well as the greater chance to set up their own business as promised by the visa agent.

The moment Ibrahim and Jayasankar landed in Kuwait in February 2015, they were forced to work as a Driver in a car rental company for 70 Dinar Salary. When they failed to get any salary after being worked for continuous period of 3 months, they had no other option than to resign from their company. As such they decided to go back to India. However, the employer refused to give their Passport. At that point of time, neither they had job nor were they able to go back to their country. As such the life became miserable.

In the meantime, a few days ago, Ibrahim's health condition also worsened. Members of the Social Forum were in touch with him during this period and offered all sorts of assistance.

Earlier, Ibrahim's family had approached the NRI Forum attached to the Government of Karnataka and requested for assistance.

Now, after spending nearly 20 months, with the continuous intervention of the NRI Forum & Indian Social Forum effective both of them reached home safely.

Riyadh, Feb 24: Indian Islahi Center, Riyadh (IICR) kicked off the propagation campaign of "Learn the Quran" national conference, which is slated to be held on March 27, 2020 at Nofa Istiraha, Exit 18, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia. It's IICR's 20th successful program.

Kerala Legislative Assembly's opposition leader & Congress leader, Ramesh Chennitthala inaugurated the campaign that was held at Voco Hotel in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ramesh was on two days visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the campaign is to instil the keenness & to keep creating the continuous awareness amongst the community on Quran. It also enables to recite the Quran with Tajweed (science of reading the Quran) & correct form.

Aboobakker Edthanatukkara (President of IICR), Abdul Qayyum Bustani, Kunhi Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Adv. Abdul Jaleel, Naushad Ali Kozhikode, Mujeeb Ali Thodigappulam, Muhammad Kutty Kadannamanna, Fasal Rahman City Flower, Mujeeb Irumbuzhi, Jaleel Alappuzha, Arafat & others were present on the occasion.

Kuwait: Eid is usually a time of family get-togethers and feasts after weeks of dawn-to-dusk fasting. But this year people celebrated at home, with virus fears dampening the holiday spirit and strict restrictions in place.

Kuwait went under full curfew before the start of Ramadan leaving people to practice fasting and Ramadan rituals at home, Even Eid al-Fitr came under full lock-down period.

As situation demanded, IMA Kuwait celebrated the Eid Get-together online via video conferencing tool, All IMA members participated joyfully in Eid Milan online gathering which was scheduled immediately after Eid prayer. Members participated and congratulated each other on the eve of Eid.

The IMA president Shamvel Parviz addressed the gathering and thanked them for joining online for this unique Eid celebration which will be remembered in history. He also advised members to be aware of conditions of neighbors, friends and family and assist them if they need help in this difficult time.

Eid al-Fitr follows weeks of fasting and marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Thousands of Muslims all over Kuwait followed strict guideline and performed Eid prayer at home along with their family.

As a part of social service activities IMA also distributed ration kits before start of Ramadan and during Ramadan for needy people all over Kuwait.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.
