Sunil Grover back with TV channel, not 'The Kapil Sharma Show'

New Delhi, Mar 31: Contrary to what one might expect, Sunil Grover is actually quite busy after walking out of Kapil Sharma's comedy show. On Wednesday, he turned up on the set of a music reality show for the same channel that telecasts Kapil's show.

A source says, "Sunil was definitely on a Sony TV set, like many have reported. However, it was for the shoot of an Indian Idol episode. He is still under contract with the channel."

Sunil is expected to leave for Delhi today for his live gig at the Tarkatola Stadium with fellow stand-up comic Ali Asgar. Meanwhile, Kapil returned to Mumbai on Wednesday after wrapping up the Bikaner schedule of his next film, Phirangi.

A source close to the unit says, "Kapil is already back on his show's set and has shot for an episode with Raveena Tandon, who has a new film coming up."

Sunil, along with creative head of Kapil show, Preeti Simoes, co-acts Chandan Prabhakar and Ali continue to stay away from the comedy programme's set. However, Kapil had fellow comics Kiku Sharda aka Bumper Lottery, Sumona Chakravarti and new entrant, Raju Shrivastav for company.

Chennai, Mar 12: Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday clarified that he never aspired to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and said his plans for politics include different heads for his prospective party and a possible government headed by it.

In his first official press conference since December 31, 2017, when he announced to take the political plunge, the veteran star also said he planned to appoint as CM, an educated youth who was compassionate and had self-respect.

With a two-leadership system for party and the government, the former would act as an "opposition" to highlight issues and would not even hesitate to "remove", apparently the head of the government, if it fails to perform, he said.

His prospective party would focus on including a substantial amount of youngsters in the age group of below 45 years while the rest would comprise retired judges and IAS and IPS officials among others.

"I myself would reach out to them and invite them," to join him, the 69-year-old actor said.

Contrary to expectations, he however, did not make a concrete statement on floating his party but called for an "uprising" by youth, after which he would make his formal political entry.

Srinagar, Feb 7: Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking a stay on the release of the movie 'Shikara' which is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.

The film which hit theatres today has Vidhu Vinod Chopra at the helm and narrates the story of the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990 that forced lakhs to flee their homeland almost overnight following a genocidal campaign by militants.

Shot primarily in the Valley, the movie is being promoted mainly as a journey of love between the lead couple.

Ernakulam, Feb 29: A court here on Friday issued a bailable arrest warrant against Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban for failing to appear before it for witness examination in an assault case filed by an actress.

Ernakulam Additional Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese issued the arrest warrant.

As per the court's direction, Boban can take bail from police station and appear before court on March 4.
