Sopore, May 25: Three people were injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire at a BSNL showroom in Kashmir's Sopore district on Monday.
The security forces rushed to the spot shortly after the attack and cordoned off the area.
A search operation is underway to hunt for the gunmen, who are suspected to be militants.
More details are awaited.
Today's attack comes after terror group Lashkar-e-Islami's warning to mobile operators in Sopore to shut the services after an equipment installed purportedly by the guerrillas on Badami Bagh cell phone tower in Sopore town was removed.
The equipment had reportedly been installed by the guerrillas to improve their communication system since the tower provided a vantage position.
Police had confirmed two days back that they seized the unlawful equipment.
They had also put up posters warning them against selling recharge coupons and asked them to close the mobile towers.
