Sussanne bats for ex-husband Hrithik in Kangana controversy

April 28, 2016

Mumbai, Apr 28: Sussanne Khan has come out in support of former husband Hrithik Roshan in his bitter fight with actress Kangana Ranaut, saying an image leaked online showing the actor hugging his "Kites" co-star is photoshopped.

SussanneSussanne, who raises two children with Hrithik, separated from the actor in 2014.

The interior designer had maintained silence over the controversy that has been making headlines for past two months but she finally took to Twitter to defend Hrithik.

"pictures are photoshopped and untrue stories carry 2 much weight.another pic for d rec. I support @iHrithik in this (sic)," Sussanne wrote alongside a picture where she and the actor are embracing each other at the same party.

The image had Kangana and Hrithik in an embrace. It was leaked after Kangana's emails to the actor were published by a Mumbai daily.

Kangana is set to record her statement as a witness in the alleged imposter case, filed by Hrithik, this Saturday.

29-year-old Kangana and Hrithik, 42, have been at loggerheads since the "Queen" star purportedly referred to the actor as the 'silly ex' in an interview.

Hrithik, who was the first to send the legal notice to Kangana, has demanded that she apologise publicly and clear the air about their alleged affair which he firmly refutes.

Kangana has slapped a counter-notice to the actor alleging him of 'slut-shaming' her by circulating private mails and photos that she sent to him. Kangana maintains that they had an affair.

Hrithik, however, says Kangana was corresponding with an imposter and he has filed an FIR with the cyber cell of Mumbai police to investigate the matter, besides his legal notice.

He also claims that when he got to know about the imposter during a Bollywood party, he gave Kangana his email id but she bombarded him with messages, photos and videos, declaring her love.

Mumbai, Jul 19: Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against two Instagram account holders for allegedly threatening actor Rhea Chakraborty, an official said on Sunday.

The location of the two accused is yet to be traced, the official said, adding that the investigation in the case is at primary stage.

Chakraborty on Thursday requested the cyber crime cell to look into the rape and murder threats she has been receiving ever since the death of close friend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rajput, 34, was found dead in his apartment in suburban Bandra here on June 14, leaving people in the film industry and audiences shocked.

Chakraborty, in particular, was subjected to online hate with users blaming her for Rajput's suicide.

"We registered the First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday under Indian Penal Code Sections 507 (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication), 509 (intending to insult modesty of any woman) and relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act," Santacruz police station's senior inspector Shriram Koregaonkar said.

"No arrest has been made so far. We are conducting an investigation in the case," he added.

On Thursday, sharing a screenshot of a hate message she received on Instagram, Chakraborty said while she had ignored many abusive texts sent to her in the past month, the harassment was now unbearable.

The 28-year-old actor eventually disabled the comments section of her Instagram page.

Chakraborty, known for films such as "Mere Dad Ki Maruti" and "Jalebi", had tagged the cyber cell and requested the authorities to look into the threats.

On June 18, she was called to the Bandra police station to record her statement in connection with Rajput's death.

Mumbai, Jul 28: Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to look into the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death and direct the state police to register an FIR in this connection.

Wishing Thackeray on Monday on his birthday, Tiwari, who has acted in Bhojpuri films, pointed out that over 40 days have passed since the death of Rajput, but an FIR is yet to be registered.

"Many happy returns of the Day @CMOMaharashtra Shri Uddhav Ji, on this day I request with folded hands to give justice to Sushant who died 43 days ago, but no FIR has been registered so far. I hope you will help. Please do justice to millions of SSR fans," he tweeted.

Bollywood actor Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14, which the police said was a case of suicide. His death had triggered an outcry from several quarters alleging that the late actor, who hailed from Bihar, was a victim of nepotism in the film industry.

The lawmaker from Northeast Delhi's Lok Sabha seat, who visited the deceased actor's family in Patna last month had then said: "Sushant's father and sister requested me to take up the issue and get him justice. It was really a sentimental moment for me".

Previously, Tiwari had demanded a CBI investigation into the matter

According to the police, statements of 40 people including film critic Rajeev Masand, director-producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and filmmaker Aditya Chopra and actor Rhea Chakraborty have been recorded in the investigation so far.
