Bengaluru, Jul 24: BJP state general secretary and MP Shobha Karandlaje on Sunday charged that T Narasipura tahsildar B Shankaraiah did not commit suicide but was murdered by the sand mafia.
Shankaraiah was found hanging in his residential quarters in T Narasipura in Mysuru district last week.
Speaking at a felicitation event organised by the Vishwakarma Mahasabha in Bengaluru, Shobha said, “The state government is making out that Shankaraiah committed suicide. But, the sand and land mafia prevalent in T Narasipura, the home constituency of Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa, murdered Shankaraiah,” she charged.
Shobha said Shankaraiah’s family members themselves had told her that the officer had been murdered. She said the law and order in the state was deteriorating by the day. Honest officers, BJP and RSS functionaries were being singled out and targeted, she said.
