December 25, 2015

taslimaNew Delhi, Dec 25: Known for her controversial writings, noted Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen stirred up the hornet's nest when she said that 'Jesus was no God's son'.

Replying to a query on Twitter about what is wrong in celebrating Christmas, Taslima wrote, “I can't celebrate lies. Jesus's mom was not virgin and he was no God's son.”

It is not an insult to say that Jesus's mother was not a virgin when she gave birth to him. My mother was not a virgin when she gave birth to me. She was a respectable married woman. That is likely to have been the case with Mary too - that she was married to her husband Joseph, had sex with him and in due course produced a baby. It is the general way of things. Women who give birth to babies are not virgins. They have had sex with someone, who is the father of their child. Only two of the four gospels say anything about Mary becoming pregnant without having sex, and they tell very different stories from each other. These detailed stories are, I believe, invented to fit in with somes verses in the book of Isaiah, which were assumed in Jesus's day to be a prophecy of the Messiah, though they were in reality no such thing and referred to a young woman (not a virgin) giving birth to a baby in Isaiah's own time.

You commentators who want to prevent Taslima from voicing her opinions publicly should be ashamed of yourselves. You are full of hate and fear. How does it hurt you that a woman says that she does not agree with what you believe? Do you think that the creator and sustainer of the universe in whom you believe is so weak and defenceless that he needs people like you to protect him from someone saying that some story told about him is not true? You are not defending Jesus's mother from insult. You are not defending God from insult. You are simply trying to defend the beliefs that you have been brought up with from being questioned. Why shouldn't they be questioned? Why should they be accepted unquestioningly? Perhaps they are incorrect. If they are incorrect, don't you want to know it?

Why somebody asking which religion she belongs. Is it compulsory to believe any religion?
There was no adam as described in religion book. Man has been evolved by evolution.

Alappuzha, Jan 4: The management committee of a mosque in Kerala is all set to solemnize the wedding of a Hindu couple, setting yet another instance of the communal harmony prevailing in Kerala.

The Cheravally Muslim Jamaat Committee at Kayamkulam in Alappuzha district in South Kerala is conducting the marriage of Anju and Sharath after the bride's mother approached the Jamaat authorities seeking help.

The marriage will be held at the mosque premises on January 19 as per Hindu rituals and the Jamaat Committee has also prepared the invitations.

Anju's father Ashokan died a few years back and her mother Bindhu was struggling to win bread for her three children. Nujumudeen Alummoottil, a businessman and secretary of the Jamaat had helped the family earlier also.

Hence Bindu sought his help for the marriage of Anju. Nujumudeen discussed it with other members of the Jamaat committee and members of the mosque.

Najumudeen said that there was no hesitation from anyone on conducting the marriage by the mosque at its premises. A gift in cash and gold would be also given to the couple.

Kerala recently witnessed a church allowing the Muslim believers who participated in an anti-CAA meet to offer namaz at the church premises and another church conducting a carol service with the youth of the parish dressed up in traditional Muslim attire.

Kerala is unique in India for cordial relation between different religions.  However, this is not being digested by sanghis and are trying to build gulf between the communities.  I am sure that people will not let theese anti national succeed in their wicked behaviour.   This communal harmoney is a slap on the faces of enemies of society.    Well done keralites.  Salute to all of you.

Udupi, Apr 7: The district administrations of Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts have appealed to the state government to request Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to allow COVID-19 tests at Manipal’s Kasturba Hospital.

Kasturba Hospital was granted approval by the ICMR to conduct tests on samples to detect the novel coronavirus on March 24, however it rescinded it later.

Udupi district Deputy Commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha stated that the Council did not provide any reason for the cancellation of approval; his office has requested the Chief Secretary to pressurise the Council in granting approval again.
