Teacher arrested for sexually abusing 16-yr-old boy

Kasargod, Oct 30: A 56-year-old teacher has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody for allegedly repeatedly sexually abusing a teenage boy, police said Saturday.

abusThe accused Suresh, who was arrested Friday, used to take classes for students at a Sunday school attached to a Syrian Jacobite Church near Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district.

Suresh, who is a neighbour of the 16-year-old victim, had allegedly sexually abused the boy since 2015 after threatening him. The victim also used to attend the Sunday school classes, they added.

The teacher has been charged with IPC Section 377, (Unnatural offences) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), they said.

He was produced before a magistrate court yesterday which remanded him in 14-day judicial custody. Three such incidents of sexual abuse have been narrated in the complaint lodged with the police, police said.

Indian law is very weak. Thats why Allah made law will reduce crime.

If u ask the victims family. They will say hang him.

In this matter court should not decide the punishment. The victim or their parents should decide what punishment to give.

Mangaluru, Mar 11: Nitte Education Trust is among the top 50 reputed institutions in the country selected by NITI Aayog for setting up Atal Incubation Centre under Union government's Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) scheme.

NITI Aayog has sanctioned Rs 9 Crore to Nitte Education Trust for setting up a full-fledged Incubation Centre at Nitte, of which Rs 2.5 crores has been received as first instalment according to a press release here on Wednesday.

Atal Incubation Centre- Nitte provides start-ups with valuable guidance, technological aid, access to investors, networking and facilitating a host of other services required for start-ups to survive and scale. Start-ups also receive direction through the robust chain of mentors who give sector-specific information and real-time practical guidance.

Mangaluru, May 25: D V Sadananda Gowda, Union Minister for Chemical and Fertilizer, has once again written to the Ministry of External Affairs urging to take steps to operate more repatriation flights from Gulf countries to Karnataka. 

In his second letter in 10 days addressed to Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Union Minister for External Affairs, expressed regret over not giving due priority for the repatriation of Kannadigas in the middle east during the extended second phase of Vande Bharat Mission. 

"I shall be grateful if you could personally intervene and instuct the concerned in arranging flights to Mangaluru and Bengaluru from Gulf countries in existing schedule itself," Mr Gowda urged Mr Jayashankar.

Bengaluru, Mar 7: Customs officials intercepted a Guatemalan national at Kempegowda International Airport here on March 2 and recovered cocaine.

The accused confessed that she had swallowed 150 cocaine capsules and concealed a tube-like structure in her vagina.

The passenger egested the total 1.385 kg of cocaine (150 cocaine capsules) over a period of two days, under medical supervision. She has been arrested.

Further, an investigation is underway.
