Mudigere, Oct 25: Three persons were killed and two others seriously injured when a car in which they were traveling fell off from a bridge and plunged into a stream this evening.
According to police sources, all the victims were returning to Bengaluru after a temple visit in Dharmasthala.
The incident occurred when the driver of the car, in his attempt to avoid hitting a dog, lost the balance and fell off from the bridge at Badavanadinne village in Mudigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru district.
New Delhi, Mar 26: While the humans are on lockdown and spending time with their families, animals are free and without any fear roaming around on the otherwise busy roads. From Malabar civets to large Indian bisons, animals are enjoying this time.
Indian Forest Officer Susanta Nanda recently shared a video with the caption, "Indian bison( the gaur) goes for a street walk. The largest extant Bovine, is native to South and Southeast Asia. It can be very aggressive. Rare to see in markets."
The 8-second video shows the large animal freely walking in the market area of Chikmagalur district, Karnataka, while the few onlookers on the road get aside and watch the Bison with utmost amazement.
The videos of animals having a gala time on the roads have become common. After the video was posted online, it became a hit. The clip garnered over 3.1k views and over 100 retweets.

Udupi/Mangaluru, Mar 1: A total of twenty leaplings were born in the hospitals of the Udupi and Dakshina Kannada (DK) districts on Saturday, February 29, district health department said on Sunday.
According to the district health department, sixteen babies were born in DK district while Udupi district saw four births. More boys than girls were born in DK (12–4) and it was the inverse in Udupi district (3–1).
Chikkamagaluru, May 4: KSRTC resumed its service from Chikkamagaluru district headquarters to taluk centres amidst the lockdown to contain COVID-19 on Monday. Chikkamagaluru is in the green zone.
Hundreds of passengers travelled to Sringeri, Mudigere, Koppa and Kadur taluks since morning from the Chikkamagaluru city.
According to KSRTC Divisional Controller, passengers who wish to travel to taluk centres have to register half an hour prior to the journey.
Sanitisers were placed in the bus stand in Chikkamagaluru to sanitise hands before boarding the buses.
