Thumbay Hospital conducts the first Coronary Angioplasty in Ajman

Ajman, Sep 9: The GMC (THUMBAY) Hospital Ajman, the 1st JCI Accredited Hospital in Ajman, has successfully performed an angioplasty procedure. The procedure was the first-ever interventional procedure to be performed at its state-of-the-art first Cath Lab Center in Ajman.

The Angiogram & angioplasty was carried out for a 54 year-old male. The patient suffered from severe ongoing chest pain for which immediate intervention was planned. He had a right and left coronary angiography with stents implantation (using drug eluting stents) carried out at GMC Hospital. The chest pain resolved completely after the angioplasty and the patient was discharged home after 24 hours from the intervention, feeling healthy.

The angioplasty procedure was carried out by the expert cardiac team at GMC Hospital headed by Dr. Mahmoud Farouk.

Commenting on the breakthrough procedure, Dr. Mahmoud Farouk said, “We are very proud to have successfully performed this in Ajman. A timely intervention is essential in preventing major complications or fatalities.”

Coronary angioplasty is a therapeutic procedure used in the treatment of narrowed coronary arteries of the heart which is the most common cause for heart attacks. This narrowing occurs due to the buildup of cholesterol-laden plaques that form along the arterial walls. Angioplasty has to be conducted in a Cath Lab by an interventional cardiologist.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.
