Hyderabad, Apr 7: A few days ago actress Rakul Preet Singh was slammed by fellow actresses for denying the existence of casting couch in Telugu film industry. One of the actress who lashed out at Rakul was Sri Reddy. She had been talking about the devil that is casting couch which, according to her, is prevalent in Telugu film industry. She has been raising her voice on social media and several TV debates but earlier today she took it to another level by going seminaked and protesting outside Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce at Filmnagar.
She alleged that she was exploited by many film producers and directors and was also denied the membership of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA) even though she's acted in three films till date. She also alleged that she was demanded nudes by several film personalities if she wants a role which she did. According to TOI, she said, "They see the videos and give no roles. They have even asked for live nude videos from me. That is the extend to which they go to take advantage of women who seek roles."
She also pointed out that telugu girls are not given roles and they are often molested adding, "I myself have been sexually exploited". It is reported that she had arrived in 'salwar kameez' but soon started stripping to her undergarments. She said, "This is the only way I can think of expressing my grief. If I have shown myself nude to several people in the film industry and despite that have got no roles, the only way I can protests is by going nude publicly."
Sri Reddy was then taken into custody by Police. Telangana Today reported, "We reached the spot soon after receiving information and shifted her from there. She staged a protest raising many grievances. We counseled her before shifting her,” said K Srinivas, Inspector Banjara Hills. No case has been booked so far in this matter.
