Madikeri: In a shocking incident, a tourist from Hyderabad died at a hospital on Friday, a day after a group of rafting guides brutally thrashed him at Dubare near here over a trivial issue.
The deceased is Razi Ahmmed. He had suffered injuries on the head. After receiving first aid at Kushalnagar Community Health Centre he was taken to Mysuru for further treatment where he breathed his last.
It is said that around 100 tourists from Hyderabad had come to Dubare and took part in water sports on Thursday. A minor clash erupted between guide Prakash and the tourists. The issue was solved through a dialogue.
However, once the team reached the bank of the river, the group of rafting guides brutally thrashed the tourist.
In the melee, Razi Ahmmed suffered head injuries. Following the complaint by one Nazeer, the police arrested seven rafting guides.
