Two more minor girls raped, killed in UP

Nagpur, Apr 21: Amidst the uproar over the Kathua gang-rape, two minor girls were raped and killed in Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday.

An 11-year-old girl was raped and murdered at Podhi village in Kawardha district of Chhattisgarh on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The police have arrested Uttam Sahu, 25, for the crime and charged him under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

A nine-year-old girl was dragged from a wedding, raped and murdered by an inebriated man at Etah in western Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night. The crime took place at Keltha under the Aliganj police station limits. The accused has been arrested.

Bengaluru, Feb 5: City Crime Branch (CCB) of Bengaluru City have arrested two drug peddlers from Kerala and have seized banned products from their possession.

According to officials the arrested persons have been identified as Shinto Thomas (35) of Wayanad and Tajudden Talat (29) of Thiruvananthapuram.

"We have seized 4 kg 350 grams of Hashish oil, 21.5 kgs of Ganja, Rs. 9300 cash, two mobile phones, two ganja crushing tools, and 625 empty boxes and other articles from them", police said in a statement.

Bengaluru, Jun 7: A 27-year-old man was allegedly killed using deadly weapons by unidentified people here, police said.

The incident took place at deceased, Arvind's rented house in LBS Nagar inside HAL police station limits.

According to police, Arvind is an accused in a criminal case and recently walked out of jail on bail.

Nagpur, Apr 5: A 23-year-old man allegedly committed suicide in Imambada area in Nagpur on Saturday due to financial distress, police said.

Nikhil Gavhane, who worked in a grocery shop, hanged himself as he had taken money from a person and was stressed over repayment, an official said.

"He was depressed since a week," the Imambada police station official said.
