Two more temples burgled in Puttur

Mangaluru, Jul 27: A gang of thieves has stolen gold ornaments and silver articles from two temples in Ramakunja and Noojibaltila villages in Puttur taluk.

thiefThe gold and silver articles worth around Rs. 4 lakh were stolen from Ullalti temple in Noojibaltila village in the early hours of Monday.

The Kadaba police said that a gang of persons climbed the five-ft high compound wall and entered the temple. The gang then broke open the door of sanctum sanctorum and made away with the gold ornaments and silver articles.

A few hours before this crime, a gang of persons managed to break open the lock of the front door of Kodappadi temple in Ramakunja village and made away with silver articles worth Rs. 24,000.

The Kadaba police said that the modus operandi was similar as in theft case in Mahalingeshwara temple in Rayi village in Bantwal taluk on Saturday night.

when the quota is completed the management guys know when and where to ask theives to rob...this is normal everywhere, by the way for GODS Sake.... why cant the RSS bhakts save the GODS and look for their safety....possible?

Only Temples are robbed and not any mosques..... Dear Hindu brothers instead of storing the money/ gold/jewels in Temples, use it for the need of poor people and social work,,, Then only Almighty will be happy...

Udupi, May 4: Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha said that mechanised boat fishing will be permitted in Udupi district in another two days.

He further said that the decision was taken after the district was declared as a Green Zone as no fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported from the district in the past several days.

The Deputy Commissioner told the media here that fishing will be permitted but social distancing has to be practised and only 30 boats will be permitted in a day.

Bengaluru, Apr 6: The Covid-19 Task Force aims to conduct 80,000 throat swab and blood tests over the next three weeks here.

According to Task Force Nodal Officer C N Manjunath an order for one lakh anti-body test kits has been placed, and was expected to arrive on April 12.

"From January 20 to March 23, more than 1.2 lakh people arrived at international airports from abroad. Of these, we have kept 37,358 under observation. The Health officials and personnel in fever clinics and hospitals are being trained to conduct the tests. There is no necessity to obtain a clearance to test people with suspected infection. Only laboratories need to get permission to test their blood and throat swab samples."

Bengaluru, Apr 1: After fake sanitisers and masks, Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have busted another racket and seized fake thermometers worth Rs 8 lakh, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

Based on credible information, police conducted the raid on Prajval Surgical and Scientific store located on the first floor of a commercial building in the first block, Rajajinagar. They arrested store manager Keshavan N, 32, a resident of Kurubarahalli.

The police have seized 70 fake infrared forehead thermometers and 60 batteries used in these thermometers. They were worth around Rs 8 lakh as per the price they charged customers for each thermometer.
