Shivamogga, Apr 13: Two youngsters were killed on Friday after their motorcycle collided with a car near Choradi village in Shivamogga district, police said.
After the incident was reported, the police immediately rushed to the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Manoj (20) and Dhananjay ( 20) from Kattigehalla village.
Manoj, who was riding the bike, died on the spot while Dhananjay succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
A case has been registered at Kumsi police station.
Kalaburagi, May 4: Migrant workers stranded in different parts of Karnataka arrived in buses at Central Bus Stand in Kalaburagi on Monday morning and are being sent to their home towns.
The Kalaburagi City Corporation has made the requisite arrangements for labourers and their thermal screening is also being done.
"Food packets and water bottles are being provided to all. Buses carrying migrant workers started arriving from 5 am. We are expecting around 70 buses. This process will continue for the next 3 days," Rahul Pandve, Kalaburagi Commissioner City Corporation, told news agency.
"We have made arrangements for registration. And all arriving at the site are undergoing thermal screening," he said.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa had on Sunday allowed labourers to travel to their hometowns in the state on KSRTC buses free of charge for three days starting on Sunday.

I am ready to give any kind of support to those who want to work for the party. We need to take all caste, communities along for the betterment of the party," he said.
Shivakumar was appointed the state Congress President on March 11, while Eshwar Khandre, Satish Jarkiholi, and Saleem Ahmed have been appointed working presidents of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.

Mangaluru, May 6: A day after a wild bison dies lost its life hours after being tranquilized in Mangaluru, another wild bison appeared in the Ashok Nagar area of the coastal city today.
In fact, two bison were spotted in Mangaluru yesterday. The two were reportedly wandering together early in the morning. Later one was spotted in Mannagudda and the other in Hathill area.
While one of them was tranquillized by an official of a Pilikula Biological Park and captured, another bison had gone missing.
The captured animal, however, died later in the day due to cardiac arrest.
According to official, it is common for herbivores, which are sedated to ensure their safe capture, to suffer cardiac arrest.
Meanwhile, Forest department officials have launched an operation to capture the second bison. It is believed that it is the same bison which went missing yesterday.
