UAE committee for Todar Shamsul Ulema College comes into being

Dubai : A new UAE national committee was formed for Todar Shamsul Ulema Arabic College under the aegis of Todar Shamsul Ulema Islamic Educational Trust, Moodbidri recently in Dubai.

The committee was formed during its first high meeting which was presided by president of the trust Usmanul Faizi, after hosting an iftar meet on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Kushi Sharief called on the committee members to join hands for the welfare of the educational institution.

Briefing on the construction project of the institution and further developmental projects, founder of the institution Isaaq Haji said that the institution aimed at being the knowledge hub for poor students from Muslim community by providing them free education using modern syllabus in PUC and Degree courses along with Deen and Islamic education and computer training with facilities including free accommodation and food.

Under the aegis of the trust, Syed Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal civil service training centre has been established to provide coaching to IAS, IPS and KAS aspirants. In the centre located in Moodbidri, coaching will be given to talented students from the Muslim community by national level experts towards dedicating trained officers to render their service to the society, he said.

He also said that the institution also provided education through PUC course for Muslim women including training in tailoring, craft, computers and Islamic knowledge towards transforming them into knowledgeable and religious women.

Sheikh Mohammed Sharief was chosen as the honorary chairman of the committee, Abdul Latheef Mulki was chosen as the president, Basheer Aster Bantwal, Abdul Khader B, Afeeq Krishnapura, Ashraf Adyar and Abdul Razaq as the vice-presidents, Rayees as the general secretary, Riyaz Abbas and Iqbal Kajoor as the secretaries, and Basheer Bolvar as the treasurer.

Dr Kapu Mohammed, M E Moolur, Moidin Kutti Haji and Ibrahim Faizi were chosen as the advisory committee members.

Hameed Kaikamba, Habeeb Adoor, Ashraf Mulki Sulaiman, Tauseef Parthipady, Sharief Kapu, Hameed Bajpe, Nawaz Kotekar, Rahiman Sajipa, Gafoor Farangipete and Rafeeq Mulki were chosen as the conveners for the committee.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.
