Udupi, Dec 3: Four persons belonging to two outfits have suffered injuries in a clash at Koteshwar under the limits of Kundapur Town police station in Udupi district.
The incident occurred on Friday night. The cause of the clash is said to be differences on putting up banners of a local fair and old enmity.
According to the Kundapur Town police, Abhishek and Ranjit of the Bhagat Singh Krantikari Balaga were surrounded by around 25 people and beaten with rods.
Abhishek and Ranjit have been admitted to the Kasturba Hospital in Manipal. Based on their complaint police registered a case against Hindu Jagrana Vedike activists.
In a counter-complaint, members of the Hindu Jagrana Vedike alleged that they were attacked with bottles by members of the Balaga. Adarsh Madivala and Sridhar Naik of the vedike have been admitted to a hospital in Kundapur.
Another case was registered based on their complaint, the police further said.
