Udupi: JF holds scholarship distribution

Udupi, Sep 19: Jamiyyatul Falah, Udupi Unit, organized a programme to distribute scholarships among students at Jamia Masjid, Udupi.

The president of JF Mr. Shahul Hameed K.K, President of Udupi district Wakf advisory committee Mr. Yahya Nakhwa, JF General Secretary Mr. Syed Zubair Shah and JF Treasurer CA. Zameer Amber, JF Jeddah Unit member Mr. S.M. Jaffer and Mr. Shareef Sulthan of JF Dammam Unit were the chief guests.

The president of JF Udupi Unit Mr. Shabih Ahmed Khazi presided over the function. JF Karkala Unit President Mr. Ashfaq Ahmed, JF Kundapura Unit President Mr. Abu Mohammad Khatheeb, JF Moodabidri President Mr. Gafoor Saheb were also present.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.

Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.

Mandya, Apr 3: Following the lock down in the country, people habit ventured into Liquor bottles worth several lakhs of rupees have been stolen at two places in the district.

Miscreants targeted a wine store at Chikka Mandya on the outskirts of the town in the early hours and also made away with the stock from a wine store near Hadly Circle in Malavalli town late night on Thursday. The incidents came to light on Friday.

A window was broken open at Chikka Mandya store and a wall was drilled at Malavalli store to take away the cartons, the police said.
