Udupi: Vice principal held for forcibly kissing, sexually harassing student

amar Kundapur, Apr 14: A vice principal of a private nursing and commerce college located at Koteshwara in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district has been arrested by police on charge of forcibly kissing and sexually harassing a student on the campus.

Both accused and victim are natives of Kerala. Vice principal Amar was detained after a first year B.Com student lodged a complaint against him.

In her complaint the girl had accused Amar of constantly harassing for a several days and sending sexually explicit messages to her and other girls.

On one occasion the accused dragged her towards him, held her in inappropriate ways and forcibly kissed her, she complained.

She also accused a female teacher, identified as Deepa, of destroying the evidence by deleting the messages sent by Amar under the pretext of checking them.

The girl said that Amar threatened to rusticate her from the college if she brings the issue to the notice of others.

Amar was produced before a court after registering a case. Investigations are on.

before appointing any person as a principal institution must properly check their background. look at his face in any angle he doesnt look like a principal even attender job is also not suiting for him.

govt should take serious action against this issue all over, must install camera's all over the school so they are afraid of doing this things.

HC orders notice to Swami Nithyananda, Karnataka govt

Bengaluru, Jan 24: Karnataka High Court on Friday ordered notice to the state government and self-styled godman Swami Nithyananda while hearing a petition seeking cancellation of bail granted to him.

A petition was filed in the Karnataka High Court on Friday seeking cancellation of bail granted to Nithyananda for skipping the trial and fleeing the country.

Justice John Michael Cunha, after hearing the complainant, ordered issuance of notice to the state government and Nithyananda and posted the matter for hearing next week.

The petition, filed by K Lenin, alleged that Nithyananda has been skipping trial and has fled the country on an expired passport.

The plea further said that Nithyananda was making false representations in his "exemption petitions to the trial court as if he is still in India".

Interpol has also issued a 'blue corner notice' to locate the self-styled godman, who is facing trial in a criminal case, on the request of Gujarat Police.

15 RSS miscreants detained for disrupting literary event

Chikkamagaluru, Jan 10: At least 15 RSS activists protesting against the 16th Chikkamagaluru District Kannada Sahitya Sammelan at Sringeri were detained, Police said here on Friday.

The Sangh Parivar activists gathered near the entrance of the hall where the event was being held and started sloganeering against the election of the leftist Kalkuli Vittal Hegde as the president of the literary gathering. The police then interfered and detained several protesters to bring situation under control.

Despite protests from the right wing organisations, the event went ahead and began as per the schedule.

Two arrested in Kundapur for threatening to kill ASHA workers

Kundapur, Apr 28: The local police have arrested two people for threatening and preventing an Associated Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers from discharging their duties during the lockdown.

Police said on Tuesday that the arrested are Sandeep Mesta and Mahesh Kharvi.

According to official sources, the health officials had put Sandeep under quarantine for 28 days.

However, he was seen wandering in the streets and ASHA worker C Laxmi warned him to stay indoors.

Irked by the warning Sandeep, along with his friend Mahesh Kharvi waylaid her and threatened to kill for objecting his movement.
