Udupi: Vice principal held for forcibly kissing, sexually harassing student

amar Kundapur, Apr 14: A vice principal of a private nursing and commerce college located at Koteshwara in Kundapur taluk of Udupi district has been arrested by police on charge of forcibly kissing and sexually harassing a student on the campus.

Both accused and victim are natives of Kerala. Vice principal Amar was detained after a first year B.Com student lodged a complaint against him.

In her complaint the girl had accused Amar of constantly harassing for a several days and sending sexually explicit messages to her and other girls.

On one occasion the accused dragged her towards him, held her in inappropriate ways and forcibly kissed her, she complained.

She also accused a female teacher, identified as Deepa, of destroying the evidence by deleting the messages sent by Amar under the pretext of checking them.

The girl said that Amar threatened to rusticate her from the college if she brings the issue to the notice of others.

Amar was produced before a court after registering a case. Investigations are on.

before appointing any person as a principal institution must properly check their background. look at his face in any angle he doesnt look like a principal even attender job is also not suiting for him.

govt should take serious action against this issue all over, must install camera's all over the school so they are afraid of doing this things.

Shobha Karandlaje claims 'corona jihad' behind Markaz Nizamuddin gathering

Chikmagalur, April 5: BJP Lok Sabha MP from Udupi Chikmagalur Shobha Karandlaje on Saturday claimed that "efforts to spread coronavirus throughout the country" began at Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi and termed it as "corona jihad".

"Efforts began at Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi to spread coronavirus throughout the country.

Most of the attendees of that event are untraceable. There seems to be 'corona Jihadi plan' behind that meeting," she said while speaking to reporters here.

Meanwhile, according to officials, out of the seven new cases from Mysuru, two cases are connected to the Jubilant Generics cluster while the rest five cases have a travel history to Delhi.

Total positive cases of COVID-19 in India stand at 3072.

Bandh call demanding job reservation in Karnataka evokes mixed response

Bengaluru, Feb 13: 'Karnataka Bandh' call given by various Kannada organisation demanding implementation of Sarojini Mahashi report for ensuring job reservation to local people (Kannadigas) in the Private and government organisation, including industries, evoked mixed response in the State on Thursday.

The Bandh call was given by the “Karnataka Sanghatanegala Okkoota”, comprising a few factions of “Karnataka Rakshana Vedike” (KRV) and was backed by Ola-Uber Cab Drivers’ Association, a few auto unions, farmers’ associations, street vendors association, trade unions and transporters’ associations.

Meanwhile, Airport Taxi Services also supported the Bandh which forced flight passengers to find it difficult in finding the transport for reaching their destination in time. Fortunately, BMTC bus services at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) was available at the Airport.
