Mangaluru, Apr 25: A 35-year-old man was hospitalized with severe injuries after an unidentified miscreant stabbed him in an alleged murder bid early on Monday morning.
The condition of the injured, identified as Nasfal, a resident of Ullal, is out of danger, sources said.
It is learnt that he was waylaid and stabbed at around 4:00 a.m. when he was riding his motorbike towards Mangaluru fishing port.
A case has been registered at jurisdictional police station. More details are awaited.
Udupi, Feb 11: In a tragic incident, a 62-year-old man from Chennai died of drowning in Sri Krishna Mutt’s Madhwa Sarovar (pond) during the wee hours of Tuesday.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Capt G Sridharan.
It is suspected that Sridharan accidentally fell into the holy pond while taking a bath. The incident is said to have occurred around 4 a.m.
Bengaluru, Mar 29: Seven new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Karnataka since Saturday 5 pm to 2 pm on Sunday.
The total number of positive cases in the state stands at 83, out of which five have been cured/discharged and three have lost their lives, according to the Karnataka Health Department.
A total of 979 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.
Bengaluru, May 11: Karnataka Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar today held a video conference with Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja to discuss measures to tackle COVID-19.
The ministers discussed in detail the protocols for testing, quarantine and treatment for COVID-19 that are being followed by both the states.
The Karnataka Health Department on Monday said that 10 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the state, taking the total number of positive cases to 858.
"31 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus in the state and 422 persons have been discharged after recovery," the Health Department added.
Kerala, on the other hand, has tackled the coronavirus crisis better than most other states of the country. There are only 19 active cases of COVID-19 in the state while 489 people have recovered. The death toll in the state is 4, according to the data published by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.
